Don't understand how Cafe Rio in Provo gets it right Every Time, but this place!!! Orders online are typically bad, barely any meat or no sauce... Employees standing around chatting with friends no one in store order was supposed to done online so now have to wait on them, again typical for this place

I ordered 18 meals online and came in to pick them up. Of the 18, at least 14 orders were completely wrong. We had dietary restrictions in the group and their meals were wrong. The stickers on the lids saying what the online order contained were not accurate to the meal inside. The meals were late and the to-go portions were significantly smaller than dine in. This was a catastrophic failure. I could not have been more disappointed. I can't imagine going to this location again.

Dietary restrictions: They do not follow instructions in this category very well. Avoid.

Update: This Cafe Rio is good, though it suffers from some of the same issues as other locations: sometimes meat or guac are too salty, sometimes the drinks are too sweet, etc. There’s some inconsistency, but it’s not a huge variation and the food is generally still very good. The service is good and much quicker than when they were new. Employees are friendly and efficient.

Original review: The food was delicious, but we waited for half an hour before we got our food. It was busy, but I’d have expected to wait maybe 15 minutes with the line they had at another location. They were also out of most of the speciality drinks. Hopefully as they get more into the swing of things, the pace will pick up.

We used to enjoy Café Rio, but unfortunately, the service has progressively gone downhill, and the food quality has become mediocre at best. Over multiple visits, we’ve experienced entire items missing from our orders, and it’s clear that attention to detail is lacking.

Our most recent experience was with a delivery order, and once again, items were missing. When we reached out to address the issue, the only solution offered was a credit on the app—no apology, no real effort to make things right. It’s frustrating to pay for a meal and not receive everything you ordered, especially when there’s little accountability from the restaurant.

At this point, the inconsistency and lack of customer care make it hard to justify returning. There are plenty of other places that offer better service and food that’s actually worth the price. Café Rio needs to step up if they want to keep loyal customers. We may be done with them.

Good food but bad service. Gotta love when it takes a manager and two employees 15 minutes to get you the tortilla chips they left out of your to go order. Save yourself time and money and go to caza salza, sweet pork taquitos 😍

Cheap, chintzy, lazy employees. Every time I come to the Springville location, no matter what time of day it is, I can guarantee they’re out of more than one major menu item. Such as grilled chicken, rice, queso, etc. These are real examples. When the coconut shrimp tacos were advertised as a monthly special, each time I tried to order them I was told they didn’t have any shrimp cooked so I would need to wait at least 25 minutes. Cafe Rio used to be a go-to, favorite of mine. The quality of the food has gone completely out the window. The portions are smaller, the food isn’t fresh and if they run out of chicken at 7 on a Saturday night, they won’t make more even though they’re open for another four hours. I’m tired of spending my hard earned money at a place that has no respect for their paying customers they don’t even deserve.

Vegetarian options: They never keep their meat stocked up therefore vegetarian dishes end up being your only choice.

Yet again I am highly disappointed in this establishment... If it should even be considered that. The employees are the most unfriendly people I've ever encountered. No one greeted us. We had to wait 10 minutes before someone even helped us, all while they were talking all in Spanish to each other in the corner. When we finally got helped and went to checkout the manager could've cared less about us. He kept saying to have us wait. They all need to be fired immediately. The owner needs to take accountability for his careless actions in hiring terrible employees, and a terrible manager, who do not know a thing about customer service. DONT GO HERE! NEVER HAD ISSUES AT PROVO OR ANY OTHER LOCATION. SPRINGVILLE HAS THE WORST EMPLOYEES.

Why are you always out of grilled chicken? I don’t understand it. No one wants the canned chicken. We want the grilled chicken. Why can’t you hear me when I am ordering over that tall glass barrier that divides us? I am yelling “grilled chicken!”

Worst cafe rio ever! Guac and sour cream cone with the salad they’re not an extra charge. Not extra sour cream, just sour cream. Meat portions are the most stingy we’ve ever experienced. More than just that , but trust me it’s just lackluster. Just crazy! We LOVE cafe rio in general but holy crap this one is not the one to go to. Hard pass.

The staff ask you questions about how you want your order. Ignore your requests and then get crabby is you ask them to make it as you order.

I really gave them a few chances but, everytime we go they are out of most things way before closing (around 6). Your lucky to get any grilled chicken ever. Also, every other Cafe Rio we go to does free Nino quesadillas with an entree. They are the only ones I found that charge for them.
