The food was great, the people making our food was going to fast and had to start over instead of listening and then making our food. The atmosphere in here is very noisy!

Two staff members working on online orders while the people in the restaurant stood and waited. The food wasn't cooked correctly. Raw, not under cooked. All the tables were dirty and needed to be wiped down.

Let me be clear normally I love it here… unfortunately today I worked with Tyler who had 0 interest in making anything quality… When I got here he was sitting in the back and one of the other employees had to go in the back to get him. Then, the burrito that he made for me was with a tortilla that had hardened and had been sitting out for who knows how long, the portions were terrible, he threw it half way through the cooker just for him to pull it out to early resulting in it hardly being cooked and the cheese on top being hardly melted at all. To top it all off the whole store was a disaster with every single table being filthy. I had to clean a table myself just to eat my food… like I said this is normally a happy place that is full of friendly employees. This is not a review on the store it’s a review on Tyler and the only reason I didn’t rate it 1 star is cause I know this store usually does much better.

Cafe Rio in Springville is an absolute favorite! Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the fresh ingredients and incredible flavor in every bite. Their sweet pork barbacoa is simply unbeatable—tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. You can taste the care and quality in everything they serve, from the tortillas made fresh right in front of you to the crisp salads and flavorful sauces.

The staff is always professional, friendly, and quick to help, making every visit a great experience. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, they make you feel welcome and valued.

If you’re looking for fresh, flavorful Mexican food with top-notch service, Cafe Rio in Springville is definitely the place to go!

I want to start by saying that I was at a cafe rio once when it got shot at. But that was nothing compared to the experiences I’ve had at the Springville location. If you enjoy, long wait times, and getting your order wrong this is the location for you. I could have gone through the line 14 times before getting my take out order. No customizations, nothing crazy. And they STILL got it wrong.

Don't ever order 'to go' from here. Just go in. They do not have it figured out how to deal with their online orders at all.

My theory is that the employees get kickbacks for not putting cheese on online orders that specifically ask for it. If that was the only problem, I wouldn't leave a review. But my grilled veggies were completely raw. This food isn't worth eating.

UPDATE 2025: Not sure what happened to Cafe Rio, but came here to update my review and noticed that everyone else seems to be having the same subpar experience I am having. Seems like they are trying to save money by giving skimpy portions, and lower quality ingredients, while hoping that our taste buds and tummy’s won’t notice. Well it’s clear that people are noticing. Like my nachos today for example. The chips were chewy, not crunchy. And there was hardly any meat on it. Mostly just slime from the black beans. After eating on it for a minute I realized that there was nothing left but dirty, bland, tortilla chips. See the pic. That’s when it really sunk in that I needed to say something. They might be saving money by cutting corners like this, but they are losing way more profit by convincing us to buy our dinner elsewhere. My hunch is that management somewhere up the line changed and there’s a new guy that is trying to implement all his lean principles he learned when going to school for his MBA. His boss will be so proud of how much money he’s saving the company!… Higher profit margins don’t always equate to greater profit.

2023: My wife is a fire fighter, so we really love this place. We love that they give first responders 50% off.

This was my first time here in a while i placed an online order the what's supposed to be ready by 6:10 i got my food by 6:50 with an almost empty dining room no one was communicating what looks to be the manager was just standing off to the side. Looking at everything happening and not doing anything. Very disappointed in my visit and won't be back here again

We regularly visit the Springville location and they NEVER get our order right. We are almost always missing a food item or given the wrong item. Then frequently when we go to correct the issue we are still missing sauce or got the wrong protein etc. The food is always good but they struggle with the orders so don’t leave without checking your bag!

Went to this location at 12pm Friday, August 8. The manager there was constantly berating the staff, yelling at them for the slightest reasons. The rest of the staff, in turn, seemed miserable. It’s no wonder considering the manager’s demeanor! Completely unprofessional, and generally quite an uncomfortable experience for the customer. Grow up and treat your staff better. Unacceptable behavior.

Don't understand how Cafe Rio in Provo gets it right Every Time, but this place!!! Orders online are typically bad, barely any meat or no sauce... Employees standing around chatting with friends no one in store order was supposed to done online so now have to wait on them, again typical for this place
