Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

Horrible experience. They had the “assembly line” broken up into 3 parts and the first gal was wonderful, she was smiling and kind, loaded the bowl with rice and chicken when I ordered a salad. The second kid was the issue, he skipped over the cheese completely and all the salsas and asked if I wanted guacamole and sour cream, I said yes to both and got half scoops of each, asked him to go back to the cheese and he grabbed the TINIEST amount with only his fingertips and sprinkled it in top like salt bae. Then he leaves my tortilla on the line and literally rolled his eyes at me when I asked for my tortilla. Then whispers at the cashier that I asked for extra cheese and to charge me….excuse me??? Luckily my bf noticed the extra charge and knew it was off because I never get “extra cheese”. We questioned the cashier and she called the kid over and asked and he GLARED at me and just said “ITS EXTRA CHEESE.” It really seemed like he was being vindictive about me reminding him about the tortilla and then having the nerve to question the upcharge. (15 yo’s shouldn’t be in charge of anything in the food industry). Literally the only reason I ate it is because it was after 5pm and I hadn’t eaten all day and the Hangry kicked in. Before I finished it I started filling out the survey through their website and asked to be contacted and never was. I will never give this company any of my money ever again. I’ve been to Cafe Rio 3 times ever and 2 times were just awful. The place across the street that starts with a D was a wonderful experience with MUCH better attitudes, MUCH better food. Don’t waste your hard earned money here unless you hate yourself.
And I almost forgot the cleanliness, or a lack thereof…..we had to wipe all the beans and cheese and rice off our own table and watch carefully where we stepped…if you ever saw the food fight scene in Animal House, you’ll be able to envision the environment accurately.

i always get the shredded chicken enchilada with mild sauce. Can get pretty busy on certain days but well worth it and delicious.

Ordered online. Very little lettuce and meat inside burrito.

Worst experience at a Cafe Rio. Ordered online, given a time to come pick-up, now 20 minutes past that. There's a group of us waiting for our orders. No updates given by staff or apologies to the lucky few who randomly get called to pick up a wrongly built order. It's an absolute nightmare.

There was 3 people in front of me and I waited in line for 45 minutes. The lack of urgency is crazy! Not to mention the bathroom was DISGUSTING. I’ve actually never been in a dirtier women’s bathroom. Will be going to Durangos only from now on.

Ordered my salad to go and found a fly baked into the tortilla when I got home. Will be taking a very long break from Cafe Rio after this.

Always love when I have a chance to go to Cafe Rio. The food is always great.

We stayed in like for about 15 min, before they informed us they were out of rice and beans. Really?!? Do better.

Really poor training and hiring at this location. All employees move very slow and have poor customer service. I asked for more meat as there was hardly any on my salad and she said “sorry we are out”. She didn’t even try to get more. Super disappointing experience.

The person taking orders at the beginning of the line wasn't listening at all my wife and I had to repeat ourselves 3 times. And the woman handling the toppings for the salads didn't even ask what I wanted and just started loading on toppings I had to stop her and have her take things off, and the kids handling packing the orders wasn't listening the me or the guy ahead of me and just looked at us blankly when we asked for something. And to top it all off the salads weren't even piled high like they always have been and half of the lettuce was already browning.

I just ordered a catering pick-up order for a birthday celebration in St. George. When we arrived at the designated time for pick-up our order had not even been put together yet. I eventually asked for the manager to ask why our order was not ready at the designated time he apologized, but did not help them put it together or offer any concessions. Even offering us a drink while we waited would have gone a long way. When the order was all boxed up we took it all out to make sure we had everything and sure enough, there was no rice. They quickly got some for us, but if we had not carefully reviewed everything we would have gone without. There was no time to spare. Barely made it to the venue in time to set up. Not a good experience. Additionally, when I called in my order to the person over catering I told her how many adults and children we had and she suggested we order for 20 since the little ones would not eat an adult portion. That was great, but she should have made note of the additional plates and utensils we would need for the children. We were scrambling to find extra at the venue since we were short in our order. I also did not receive a receipt in a format that I could scan or enter in my app to earn rewards. I had to call the catering person to ask how to do that. She was very helpful and got the points added to my account.

Extremely slow service. They were out of everything but chicken and pork. Multiple customers left the line halfway through ordering because it was taking too long or they just said "sorry we're out of that. There was a ton of employees but no one was doing anything. The food was terrible, crunchy rice, and sopping wet lettuce. No one seemed to care about anything. I used to love cafe Rio, I will never go back at least to this st George one.

Stay away from here. Terrible,inconsistent portions. 15 or 20 people in line and it took 40m to get to the front. This place has gone to trash. Go to any other spot in town. You will regret coming to this dump. Cheap low quality. Trash trash trash

The woman taking orders at the beginning of the line today was unbelievably rude. I have never had an experience with a worker that was so disrespectful. I felt horrible for how she spoke to the older ladies in front of us in line. We complained to the manager at checkout only to be dismissed. I am honestly disgusted the lack of human decency by the staff.
