Every single thing about this place is amazing!!! I'm from Southern California and I'm use to really and I mean REALLY yummy and authentic Mexican food, so when I lived in St.George, I went on a hunt to find the place that was closest to reminding me of home. That's when I discovered this gem of a restaurant. It doesn't matter what you order, it's absolutely delicious and memorable. I've lived away from Utah for 8 years now and I STILL think about this place and miss it like crazy.

Do yourself a favor and try as much as you're willing to because you will not be disappointed!!! Plus, fresh homemade Pinto beans on the house?!? I mean, COME ON! Why are you still reading my review and not ordering one (or two) of their memorable meals?!? You can thank you me later. 😜

The food here is really good, but it’s dirty enough that you feel like maybe you shouldn’t be eating it. This place used to be much better kept. Not sure what’s happened in the last few years. It needs a real good cleaning!!

I should've turned around once I saw a toddler playing behind the counter, but I thought 'i should stay as it seems to be a family run business.
This plate was just under $12, all the extras you put on yourself. However, you decide if it's appetizing. I will say, without exaggerating that their green salsa had so much salt content I almost projectile-vomited. You can see the state of the self service bar, table cleanliness and floors.
The food was hot and cooked to order.

My fiancé and I were craving Mexican food and decided to give El Coyote a try, but unfortunately, we left disappointed. I’m usually pretty easy to please, especially when it comes to Mexican food, but this place just isn’t it.

The pricing felt steep: three tacos, one order of carne asada fries, and one Hotcha (with no ice) came out to $29.17. The fries were basic and lacked salt, while the tacos were just okay. 😔 The salsa bar had some variety, but the salsa itself was average.

What stood out the most, though, was the atmosphere. The place seemed rundown and not very clean, with torn and worn-out cushion seats that definitely needed an upgrade.

Overall, it wasn’t the experience we were hoping for. I hope things improve, but as of now, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

This place use to be a favorite, but man has the quality gone down. The salsa was very acidic like it had been made and sat for too long, the chips tasted stale, and the tacos lacked in flavor. The restaurant over all is just dirty and run down.

We stopped by for a quick taco Saturday afternoon and nobody was there to take our order. While we waited we couldn't help but notice how filthy everything was. The salsa bar and ice cream displays were unacceptable. We left without ordering food. If your business looks like this were customers can see, I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like.

I'm sad this place is run down. It feels depressing just walking in. I had the pastor fries and the pork was fatty and greasy. I had been in years ago and it was great.

Place is a little scary but burritos and tacos were on point. Worth a shot

We used to eat here and loved it but hadn't visited in over a year. Went today and the floors and tables were filthy and sticky. The meat was dried out, cold, and seemed like it'd been sitting awhile. Tonight one of us is very sick and I believe it was the food.

They didn't even ask if they can help us they just look at us

Beware!! We are shocked that this place is still operating! We were the only people in there (should have known better), the restaurant is absolutely disgusting! Floors were dirty, booths had ripped and taped up upholstery! Service was terrible, the lady behind the counter seemed like she didn’t want to be there, acted like we were an inconvenience to her. The tacos all had grizzly meat and nothing on them! There was a salsa station for your tacos with no description of the salsas! We learned our lesson and gave it a shot! We will never be back!!!

This isn't really a review, as much as it is a critique for the owner. When Coyote first opened, it was popping. Always full of people, with a line of people waiting. You used to need to call in advance to beat the lunch rush. Now every time I go here, it's empty, and doesn't have the spark it used to.
I suspect that it was sold from the original owner, and the new owner doesn't have the same love for it.
Back in the day, everything was basically 5 bucks, except for the taco salad or fries. Now, it's 10 bucks a burrito.
Here's the deal... I'm sure you jacked up the prices to boost profits, but I'm willing to bet you would be more successful if you dropped the price, and kept the quality.
Seriously, consider it. You probably lost 80% of your customers with the price hikes. Me and my coworkers went there EVERY DAY for months. That's 25 bucks/per person, per week. And there were like 6 of us. Now, you're lucky if you catch me here twice a year.

Not dogging on you guys, I actually love the food, but I am always shocked at how empty it is now.
