We’ve been to Island Grindz twice now, after a friend in the area recommended it, and I’m honestly so glad they did. The pupu chicken and beef kalbi were deeeelicious — some of the best Polynesian food I’ve ever had.
Is it weird to admit that they have turned my entire family into pu-pu fiends?!
The flavors are amazing, the meat is super tender, and the portions are decent and satisfying. Both visits were consistent, and everyone there is friendly and welcoming, which just makes the whole experience even better.
I’m really happy to have found this place. If you’re craving good island comfort food, you won’t be disappointed. 🌺🍗🔥

Ordered the 2 meat plate and it took me two tries to finish it off. Had the pupu chicken and bbq teri chicken. Both are excellent. Mac salad is solid too. Prices seem fair, especially for the portion size. Lots of good food and friendly service, what else could you want?
We’ve been coming to Island Grinds for close to 10 years, and it never disappoints. Locally owned and family run — these are the types of places you come for real food! Every dish is made from scratch, full of authentic Polynesian flavor, and served with genuine island hospitality.
Even though we now live on the other side of town, it’s still worth the drive every time. Best Polynesian food in St. George, hands down!

The food is great! We order their special with the teriyaki chicken.yum! We have been eating here for 4 years! They are great at making us feel welcome. They remember us by name, even with all the customers they serve. That has been an extra bonus to feel special and not just a customer. If you haven’t tried their food yet you will want to 😋
