We can't say enough about Hunt & Gather Restaurant in Torrey, Utah—this place is absolutely top-notch! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special.
Nancy, the owner and hostess, was exceptionally accommodating and made us feel instantly welcome. Her warmth and attention to detail set the tone for an extraordinary evening. Her husband, the chef, is a true culinary artist who created meals that were simply out of this world. Each dish was a masterpiece, featuring thoughtful and artistic presentations that were almost too beautiful to eat.
We were adventurous and tried the elk, trout, and antelope—all prepared to perfection with incredible depth of flavor. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. You can taste the passion and skill in every bite. And we absolutely must mention the sweet potato pecan pie—a perfect ending to a perfect meal!
Our servers, Emily and Lisa, were both professional and amazing, providing attentive service that enhanced the entire experience without being intrusive.

We can't say enough about this place. Top-notch all around. First, Susie made us feel special and appreciated. She should win a medal for having to deal with some of the crazy people that wandered in off the highway. That includes us. Emily was our server and she was awesome. Completely professional and amazing. We did threaten to withhold her tip when she gave us the devastating news about the sweet potato pecan pie running out, but she quickly defused the situation with delicious ice-cream and hot coffee. Like I daid the woman is a pro. The whole meal was amazing from the antelope app to the last sip of cider. If you're in the area wander in, but make a reservation to make it easier on everyone 😀.

We were a group of 6 hiking through around Capital Reef and Escalante. We booked Hunt and Gather in advance not really knowing much about it and we were so glad we did. Finding places to eat in a small town with dietary restrictions can be very challenging! I found Hunt & Gather Restaurant while I was researching before our trip to Capitol Reef and knew I had to eat here. The menu is labeled for dietary restrictions and our server (Kourtnee) was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and food allergies. Everything we tried on the menu was fantastic. We loved the outdoor seating area. Our only regret is only having one night in Torrey, or else we would have dined here again.
A Perfect Gourmet Meal! Nancy and Chet and family have created an exquisite dining experience in a cozy building on Main Street in Torrey. Seating options include indoors and out. The menu is imaginative. Everything was perfect — citrus herbs dressing on salad; elk prepared just right; and marsala sauce on the steak. Limited wine selection of some great wines. Lowell is a terrific attentive waiter! My wife and I highly recommend Hunt & Gather, and will return for a second meal this evening. If staying in Torrey, do not miss this restaurant.

If you are anywhere remotely close to Torrey, I highly recommend this place. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time and very reasonably priced for what you get. Trout was excellent, vegetable bake excellent. Lemon Sorbet best ever had. Meal presentations were very thoughtful, artistic.
