Stopped in at Slacker’s Burger Joint during our trip to Capitol Reef, and wow — easily the best burger I’ve ever had. The kitchen staff absolutely nailed it — perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor.
A huge shout-out to Aaron and Alex for their outstanding service. They were polite, kind, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. It’s rare to find that level of friendliness and professionalism these days, and they made the whole experience even better.
If you’re anywhere near Capitol Reef, do yourself a favor and stop here. Great food, great people, and a place that makes you feel right at home.

My wife and I visited your restaurant on June 16, 2025, at 2:44 PM. She ordered a BLT sandwich, and I had the Bison Burger. After paying and sitting down, I noticed on the receipt that we had been charged for two BLT sandwiches instead of one.
I returned to the counter and spoke with Aaron B., who had taken our order. He acknowledged the mistake and said he would speak with management to have the overcharge refunded to my Amex card.
About 10 minutes later, Aaron brought our food to the table and realized he had also forgotten to notify the kitchen of the error—resulting in an extra BLT being prepared. He took the additional sandwich back to the kitchen.
After finishing our meal, I followed up with Aaron regarding the refund. He assured me it would appear on my credit card within a few days. However, I sent two emails to the restaurant’s listed address afterward to confirm the refund, and I never received a response as of 8/6/2025.
Unfortunately, the lack of communication and follow-through left a sour note on what could have been a pleasant dining experience. I hope the management team takes steps to improve customer service and accountability moving forward.

Expensive for food in this whole area, so it's hard to complain about that. Service and food are great!
Good food, great customer service, they had our party of 17, with several different orders, served fast. On a different day, they let me come in and buy a drink from them so I could refill it while I had my meal at another restaurant down the street, because the down the street restaurant only served canned sodas (not refillable fountain drinks). So this place let me keep coming in during my meal I ate at another restaurant and I keep refilling my drink; super cool. Great service!

The long-haired guy at the counter messed up our chicken order. He gave us a Malibu chicken, then argued with us and claimed that’s what we ordered. It was clearly his mistake, but instead of fixing it, he made us pay for another sandwich just to get the right one.
We had just driven six hours and were starving, so we paid for the extra sandwich. But if we weren’t so hungry, we would’ve walked out and gone somewhere else. Terrible customer service. Arguing with customers over your own mistake is ridiculous. Honestly, the name “Slackers” fits.

Disgusting... I don't like to be harsh but that's the only word I can use to describe the food. Atmosphere was dirty as well but thats typical for an old diner. Staff was nice and helpful though. The food itself awful! We got a grilled chicken sandwich and it was so rubbery and stingy it wasn't edible. Fries were good greasy diner style. The veggie burger wasn't the best... it was edible but a little spicy and honestly not good.... as a vegiterian I'm not hard to please but this just wasn't good. I can't speak for the burgers that are popular but for us this was a waste of money considering how pricey it is for such cheap food quality. A drink is $4.50 in a small cup... Tons of other quality places to eat in Torrey & Bicknell to choose from.
