I brought my grown son with me to the bread making class, and we both felt we got so much out of it. We learned not only how to make sourdough bread, but had the chance to make our own loaf of bread to take home, along with dough for another loaf and starter as well. The instruction was clear and helpful, and we felt quite confidant that we could duplicate the process at home. Along with this instruction, we were served a delicious four course meal, which had sourdough used for each course. A terrific class, with a low cost, which was a great value, and seriously I felt should have cost much more. I hope they offer another class at the Happy Camper. I will be sure to sign up.😊

We had the best time learning about sourdough while dining on some of delicious sourdough items Happy Camper offers. We then got our hands dirty and made our own loaves. It was an awesome date night.

I attended a sourdough bread class here. This was my first visit. The deli and bakery atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone was so nice and the food was AMAZING! I had the salad, soup in a bread bowl, pizza and dessert. Everything was fresh and tasted great. I will definitely be a regular now.

Always wonderful. Whenever I go to Salt Lake I'm there. It was a tradition to go when we lived in Utah. My girls love the Happy Camper Deli and Bakery as much, if not more than I do.

I think their sandwiches were very good. 4 stars for value. While good, my feedback would be to sweeten the deal somehow. Sell your food as a combo, don't give the option. Rework the menu where the main attraction is a meal with the option to take off the add ons, not visaversa.

A la carte sandwich shops have to overcome a steep stigma ingrained into our society that sandwiches are cheap, or atleast they should be. To defeat this, sell it as a combo, no option for a customer. Unless you're Kneaders or a business with brand value, you'll piss people off with upcharges. Indeed, the option to add a combo only makes the value proposition harder to swallow because you're charging seperate for something that "should" be included with a sandwich. I'd rather pay $13.99 for a sandwich, chips, pickle and drink than $11 for just a sandwich. Sounds crazy, but that's how consumer's minds work. But you don't have that option. You have the option for an uncharge. Instead, give the customer the option to DOWN-charge. Much better way of doing business. A customer feels trapped when they are only offered to spend more instead of less. Of course there is a balance, but that's what business is about!

So add a pickle, chips and drink. Make it meal. Give the option for a treat for $2.99 more. Next thing you know you have a HAPPY customer spending $17 rather than having a customer skeptical of the value before they even order because of your menu design and pricing stategy.

SELL VALUE. Don't sell sandwiches. And stop telling people what's valuable and what's worth money, etc. It's your job to defeat the economy and give people something that atleast appears worth their money. You have good sandwiches, Mr. Owner. Figure out how to offer value.

My four year old could have made the sandwiches we got. They don’t even use real cheese. What a waste of money. The chicken salad was dry and 90% lettuce. These people should be ashamed charging these prices for this garbage.

In response to the obviously emotionally unstable person who runs this sandwich shop.. First of all don’t run a business if you can’t take criticism. Second of all the picture was of the sandwich cut in half not doctored or a last bite as you described to show that there was hardly any meat on the sandwich. Third there is absolutely a difference between actual american cheddar cheese and kraft fake over processed cheese that you put on my sandwich. Which you would know if you ran a sandwich shop that was actually decent in quality. Third of all it does not matter if it was chicken salad or regular chicken the point was your chicken was dry as a cracker. Fourth again speaking to your ignorance as someone who runs a restaurant a meal would be considered a sandwich plus chips or something else with it we had to pay extra for our lays chips we got. Fifth of all you can look up the menus of Ernies in Utah County and Grove Market and Deli in Salt Lake their sandwiches are the same price and at least twice as big as what you made for us today. Lastly the only thing that is hurting you and your business is you being cheap on your ingredients and your lack of professionalism.

Visited Gardner Village recently and tried this little Deli and Bakery. With it being Halloween time, they had their special WitchFest menu available. I tried the hot sandwich called the Dragon’s Fire which was a delicious sandwich. Highly recommend it. They did let us sample some of their soups and we also got the pumpkin corn chowder with a bread bowl. You can get the soups to-go in a cup but you will be charged for the separate container just fyi.

We went over the weekend during Witch Fest and had a terrible experience. It was very very busy (to be expected) but they were extremely slow and it seemed the average wait for food was about 30 minutes after being in line for another 30 minutes. We get up to the counter and are informed they are out of bread bowls for their soup and they were heating up a new pot of soup as well. No problem. After waiting for 20 minutes, we get our broccoli cheddar soup with a slice of very dry bread. The soup still had cheese that was cold and the soup itself was very watery with a bad flavor. The soup was inedible in my opinion. When we took our soup back to get a refund or have them replace it with a different item. My mom requested a refund and the lady the counter asked for her card so she went back to our table outside to grab it. When she got back it was a guy at the counter and he denied her a refund or a pastry to make up for the inedible soup. He was extremely rude to her. I promise I am not one to give bad reviews, in fact, I try to leave positive reviews. But this place was awful. Between the customer service and the food itself we won't be returning.
