Found this cute out of the way sandwich shop. Service was great, food was great. I had the pesto paying and half salad. I ate half and took half home. Very generous portions.

Unimpressed. I was at my husband's work today and the only eating place close by is Apple Spice. My husband ordered the french dip and asked for it plain (meat and cheese only) and they put sauce on it. I placed my order online (not a business expense) and indicated that I wanted pasta and asked if they had a cookie other than choc chip since I could not have dairy. I also indicated if they didn't I would take the choc chip and give it to my husband. A coworker picked up the order and mine came with no cookie, no sauce on the sandwich and a quinoa salad ( full of onions - yuck). I went back to the store and explained the mistake and that I was the no dairy order. She gave me the pasta salad and cookie but when I got back to work I opened the salad and it looks to be full of cheese. I didn't want to go back again but when I mentioned to the girl at the desk I had a no dairy request, she could have said the pasta has cheese and that is why the quinoa was substituted instead of me assuming it was a mistake. I would have chosen a bag of chips instead. The website does say substitutions will be made for allergies but there is no indication what the side items are made with. I would have had no idea a quinoa salad had onions and beans or that a pasta salad wasn't the traditional spiral salad with tomatoes and olives. Also, I chose the carrot chips thinking they were "chips" - baked carrots made into chips, not carrot slices. It's fine but when thinking of sandwiches and the word chip, again descriptions on the side items would be nice. On the positive side, the sandwich was big with a lot of turkey meat.

This place has really gone downhill. My sandwich hardly had any meat on it, it had no tomatoes, just some lettuce. I didn't get my side dish. The other person I ate with didn't get their pickle. They had no lids, no straws, no crackers and no cookies. The person bringing out the orders also had no idea what comes with an order and didn't really seem to interested in figuring it out..

Just finished "eating" Apple Spice Junction catering at an event as our "thank you" lunch. Never again. Go back to the boxed sandwiches!!!Chicken was dry & nearly flavorless. Potatoes were powdered & tasted like it. Gravy was from a pouch. Eww. Dressings were not fresh or homemade either. I could even bring myself to taste the desserts. What happened to Apple Spice Junction??? This is horrible.
Sandwiches were good and also the macaroni salad. The box lunch is perfect

This is literally the most amazing, underrated deli in SLC. They have the best, most fresh tasting sandwiches I have ever had! Usually when I eat out, I always think that I could’ve made that dish way better myself at home, but not when I come to Apple Spice! I’m the type of person that orders the same thing every where I go but here I just want to try everything. I have yet to have a bad sandwich, panini, wrap, or soup!
