Great food n great people
This is the only Halal restaurant we could find near the airport open on Monday. It is a nice little dining area on the side of the grocery store. The waiter gave us a couple of suggestions and the food was great! Unfortunately, they forgot our samosas. Overall it was great! I am sure we will return.

Honestly I was a little intimidated at first because I entered the market and couldn’t find the actual restaurant portion of the establishment. But I am glad I asked. It is a small place so I don’t recommend going with a big group, but for solo dining or with another person, it’s perfect.
I ordered the shami kabob and it was awesome! The meat was pretty tender, not as tender as other places I’ve had, but I actually enjoyed the crispiness of the meat. It was very flavorful and my mouth is watering reminiscing about the meal. The rice was very fluffy and perfectly prepared. The salad was simple, but it was nice to have as a palette cleanser throughout the meal. Their chatni was so delicious and they sell it in a tub in the market.
The man running the kitchen doesn’t speak much English but he was polite and friendly. I was so pleasantly surprised by the meal, I want to go back to try the other dishes before I leave.
Ps I loved the Native American and Honduran decor mixed in with all the Afghani decor.

My first time stopping in and glad I did!! The food was excellent!! I had the Chicken Biryani and it was delicious. Very friendly and attentive service. The restaurant door is on the side of the building to the right once parked. Afghan food is fantastic but it tastes different than other Middle Eastern countries' foods. It's better IMHO. If you like Middle Eastern food, you'll love this!

I was in the US Army and deployed to Afghanistan. I ate all sorts of local food there. The Kabul Kitchen in Salt Lake City is just as good if not better than pretty much anything I ate in Afghanistan. Fantastic place. Just know that Afghan food is distinctly different from Pakistani and Indian even if some of the names are the same. Afghan food is unique.
