I purchased a plantain bowl and jambalaya last night at the Bee. One bowl was 1/3 of a plantain and peanut sauce on white rice and the jambalaya was vegan (no shrimp or meat at all). It cost nearly $30 for essentially two small bowls of bland rice. Despite the small portions we ended up throwing about 1/2 away because it just wasn't palatable.

Went w a group, we all got different dishes, all came away from the meal so thrilled and surprised about how good all the food is. It was the first time any of us tried those meats and dishes, loved each one.
Really authentic and delicious food, it's a must try. The staff is very friendly, it's rare to feel such genuine goodness from people anywhere.

I had Mama Africa on the University of Utah campus, and it was so good. I got the combo plate and it was just what I needed. Good food and awesome customer service. Honestly, I would just go again because the ladies that served me were so cool to talk to.

We got the combo meal (secret menu) which let us get a taste of everything including the beignets for desert! We walked away with two full, happy tummies and a box of leftovers. Fun ambiance and delicious food. Owner was friendly and personable. 4 stars instead of 5 because prices for the drinks weren't labeled. Definitely coming back!

I had high expectations for this place but was disappointed. The service was good and the staff was helpful with explaining the menu. Once we ordered our food, I heard the microwave turn on because we (wifey and I) were the only ones in the restaurant. I assumed maybe they were only warming up certain items but when the food came out it was apparent all the items were microwaved except for some cherry tomatoes and cilantro. Nothing else was freshly made. Don't think we be going back.
