“This has been my favorite spot to eat out ever since it opened. The staff is always friendly and the food always delicious.They have undisputably the best Sushi in town!!! The quality has consistently been excellent through all crisis and inflation, and that's saying a lot about the dedication of Sato's!“

“The portions are much smaller than they use to be. The orange chicken use to be loaded with enough for 2 meals. They dont load the boxes like they did a few years ago. For almost $17 its not really worth it anymore. Went to Martin's and guy at the chinese place in the back gave me nearly 5 lbs of food for $12.00. I had to rethink if this place is really worth the money. After sending them a photo he said he checks with the chefs and they said they didnt do it because my box was super light. Obviously if I sent a photo the photo clearly shows what I got. He did give me another box the next day so I do appreciate that and cant knock the service or food. I would just say the portions are much smaller than they use to be. He did replace the meal which made the portion similar to the old portion that you use to get the first time so I am giving them 5 stars for that but I do think they need to go back to their old ways and hook people up. I use to love to this place because of the giant portions and the higher quality ingredients but now its not quite as good as it use to be. Its still really good but they are not giving 3 lbs boxing like they use to be. Maybe 1 lbs now. The rice box is not over loaded anymore either. They measure it right to the line. It use to be packed so much it would nearly spill out the box.“

“If you're looking for sushi, this is the absolute best place in Harrisonburg!

We moved to the area about a year ago after having just visited Japan and were longing for sushi. After multiple other restaurants we tried Sushi Jako and we instantly knew that this was going to be our go-to place.

The servers are always kind and while it can get crowded during the school year leading to slower service specifically for the sushi (there's a single chef), the sushi quality more than makes up for the wait.

Recommendation is to order edamame with drinks if it's crowded (a typical Japanese appetizer combo). If you're a fan of sashimi, the chirashi is an excellent choice!

We've been to Sushi Jako about twice a month and I always order the chirashi (and it's been top notch every time). The quality of the fish is 10/10!“
