Looked for this store today, what is pinpointed on maps, is a brewing company, recognized the old building still shown in maps as being located next to the creeper trail, went and the building was empty, turns out its now listed or located inside a building with signs saying the Commons. Which isn't accurate. Was passing through Abingdon and didn't have the time to stop and research to find its now a part of the Commons building on the corner.

Not too many local things here. Couldn't find what I was looking for. Doesn't seem like much. Don't really get why it's called a food hall. Oh well....

I have gone in twice since they moved into the newly renovated location on main street. It is pretty depressing in there. I normally think of health food stores being cheerful and unique. I miss the two ladies that used to work there. They were nice and helpful. The flow of the store is bad, a lot of wasted space. They are poorly stocked. They have like, one of everything (but just one, like one bottle, one box, one coffee press..) They literally stock stuff like the coffee filters that you buy at walmart...I'm confused. Where is the natural healthy foods? It's a lot of dressed up expensive junk food. Not a lot of whole ingredients. Everything is like in a cubby. It was weird. I went in once hoping to find some ingredients for a Mediterranean meal I was making. I left empty handed. The next time I was looking for some gifts for a few people on my list. I also left empty handed (mostly because I could find the same exact item cheaper elsewhere...or there was just one item). It's a lot of hype for nothing. They have a lot of cheap (not in money but in health) frozen foods. They have almost no middle eastern food ingredients. It's just a barren landscape of nutritionally deficient offerings. I am a little confused by the kids stuff too. It's not natural, it's not organic. It was stuff like a polyester princess gown and some generic story books. I wouldn't recommend this place.

This store has recently reopened in a newly renovated building in Abingdon. I went yesterday and was very disappointed. I often went to the old location where I would pick up little odds and ends. The new location has the ambition to be a more complete grocery store...well they fail at that. They don't even have prices on most of the items that they offer. It is chaotic and messy at the new location. I honestly feel really sorry for the employees. I witnessed some poor guy just running around. There is too much mismanagement for the regular floor employees (people at the cash register, the people who help you) to try to deal with. It is clear that someone hasn't thought this out. It is very over priced (and a good deal of the items they carry are repetitive, you can get them at pre-existing grocery stores in town. Also a lot of the items are not local...contrary to what they tout on their website). They are getting too hot for their pants if I'm being honest. They talk a big talk without providing much. I also want to mention a health concern. People are bringing in reusable containers for canister items (which seems good). What is not good is the way that people are having to use these containers, which they bring from home (keep in mind, everyone has different standards of cleanliness) and they are putting food in the canisters, taking them up to the register to be weighed, finding out it's more than they wanted (because everything is so expensive) and then walking back to the canisters and dumping what was in their containers back into the canisters so that the weight is what they wanted. Then you have other people getting their food from these same canisters. That could be cross contamination. It's dangerous. It's just one of many examples of why this location has just been poorly thought out. You get the feeling that the owners have maybe bitten off more than they can chew. I personally would much rather go to the farmers market. You get the people experience there and you feel like you truly are buying local, helping local farmers. Not like you are helping someone take advantage of local farmers.

I am disappointed. I was really looking forward to it but it definitely falls short. I won't be returning. Talked to some of my friends about it and one brought up the food bank. If the farmers are giving extra unsold farmers market food to this place they won't be donating it anymore...which kind of doesn't seem friendly to the community...does it?

I love the staff here! They are incredibly nice. I love that you can find local products here. It's got my favorite milk/yogurt by Goshen & the local honey keeps my allergies at bay.

What a selection and variety. They've covered a broad base of health foods and products. Also, the lady running the store today was very sweet.

One of the best grocery stores around! Hemp seeds, cacao nibs, raw cashews, if you need it they most likely have it. I love that they carry meals & treats from Sun Meal prep & blended pedler is delicious of course. Shop here! There's also the apothecary next door that keeps me stocked on all my herbal needs. I only wish they were open on Sundays as well.
