Great bbq done right..in downtown Abingdon. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and juicy. The bark was terrific and they had your choice of sides. I had the home made chips and banana pudding, wife had baked apples the beans. Service was quick, but had to ask a couple of times for water and napkins.The live bluegrass music was great! I highly recommend the Bonefire!Wheelchair accessibility: The door is sidewalk level. Sidewalk is cobblestone, but doable. Front door is standard size manual.
Love the choice of sides. Everything is amazing. Id love to know how the cornfritters and babybakers are made. We've asked the waiters a few times and tried multiple ways of making them but can not figure it out... Everything has its own unique flavor . I wish we Knew about this restaurant sooner. we hate to hear its closing down.
While looking for a place for a quick lunch, came upon Bonefire. Fabulous atmosphere with great food. Had the fried green tomato BLT and Pulled pork barbecue sandwich. Did not disappoint!

Restaurant is undergoing renovation to the front. The door with the sign is locked and the window was broken. We called the restaurant to find out they were open and we should come down to the other entrance. We should have left! Instead we did go in and ordered. We ordered 2 sandwiches and chips (not a difficult order). It took 55 minutes for them to bring our dinners. During that time, the waiter never checked on us or give us an update on our dinners. A simple stop by him and that the kitchen was busy would have gone a long way. I did speak to the manager and was told they had 3 people out. I understand being short on personel, but not just let customers sit there with no information. Just be prepared to wait if you really want to eat here. The food definitely wasn't the best BBQ that I have had.
Stopped by for a beer with my dogs after backpacking Mt. Rogers for three days last Friday afternoon/evening. Megan the bartender took great care of me. The later stopped by for dinner and another beer and met Doug who was an awesome host. The food was amazing, the beer cold and the atmosphere perfect. Lots of new ideas coming (back patio, upstairs pool tables, etc). Already looking forward to the next visit. Forgot to mention the music. Top notch Blues. What's not to like.
Outstanding food, cool atmosphere, and great staff. Went here for 2 meals on our 3 days trip, both were spectacular. 10/10 recommend. Worth a trip if you’re not close by.

Passing through Abingdon, I stopped for dinner. Aside from the post-dinner food coma ;-) it was great. I had the three item combo (wings, brisket and wings + the cornbread fritters). I was stuffed when I finished, but it was too good to leave any on the plate. Dan, the bartender and my server, was awesome. Highly recommend!!
