The ice cream was freezer burnt, the lavender tea was ok, nothing special. Second attempt at this place, second time disappointed. There is something very strange about this place. The vibe is off. Just go across the street to White Birch where the people, food, and vibes are great!

I wanted an authentic tea experience for Mother’s Day. It was a quaint tea room. The music and the atmosphere were relaxing and enjoyable. The service was awesome and the teas were exquisite. The scones were delicious with the cream and jam. I would definitely go back for more experience. The only thing was it was a little pricey.

Kid-friendliness: My daughter was treated with respect and the hostess loved that we were doing a Mother’s Day tea together, but I would recommend ages of 5 and up. No small children. There’s a lot of glass and seats are not small child friendly.

Having afternoon tea at Camella’s Remember When Tea Parlor was a delightful experience and a highlight of a recent visit to Abingdon! (The negative reviewers obviously didn’t heed the rules.) First, you MUST make a reservation. If you wait until the week you are in town, Camella’s will probably be booked. At this, my first visit to Camella’s, I learned the owner and hostess, Carrie is basically a one-woman show. This means she will limit the number of guests that she serves. Carrie prepares the food, which today included a light salad, salmon mousse, as well as sweet cherry almond canapes, and delicious scones of three flavors. You must try the scones with Devonshire cream and jam! Finally, there was a lemon curd tart dessert. These palatable items are served on a lovely three-tiered tray. There is a menu of delectable teas from which to choose. I chose the chocolate caramel hot tea, and my friend chose the Lavender iced tea. We each had both teas. Note: Carrie is also the hostess, server, and dish washer. That means you will need to be patient, relaxed, and kind! Carrie was very informative and answered our many questions since we were both new to afternoon tea. However, after our visit to Camella’s Remember When today, we are now afternoon tea aficionados.

The owner of this shop is very rude and demeaning. I came from Mountain city for the first time excited to try a new tea house. Sadly it was not to be, the hours posted were from 11-4pm and nothing was available, no tea, no ice cream and the owner behaved as if we were intruding and expecitng service and had interrupted her set up. The sweet young man who I believe was special needs told us that the tea room was not serving at this time and we had to make reservations but that their was a gift shop. The owner scolded him and us for looking into the tea room. I see that others have experienced this same behavior. Apparently you have to catch her on a good day to receive southern hospitality or even basic civility.

I have been here at least twice over the last several years and it has always been a lovely and special experience. The tea and food are delicious and it’s a treat to try homemade dishes. Carrie is a wonderful person and explains the food as it’s served! The menu is themed for each month from my experience, which is a neat touch. I love the chocolate caramel and peach apricot black tea so much that my mom ordered me some recently. Camella’s even added in some tea samples!Needless to say, I highly recommend Camella’s Remember When to anyone visiting Abingdon or NE TN/SW VA locals!

My husband brought me here as a valentines day surprise. And they weren't open when they said they were gonna be. We drove 1 hour here and decided to go somewhere else to eat. Came back throughAnd this time the door says open but we will be back in 30 minutes.. very disappointed ? ? will not come back and waste my time! Would have given 0 star if I had the option.

I can't say enough positive things about Camella's. It has brought so much joy to my life! The menu changes every month. The food is unique and delicious. Everything is thoughtfully displayed throughout the tea. I have had tea at many places throughout my life but no place has mastered the art of tea like Cary at Camella's. It is very important that people make a reservation well in advance. Cary intricately prepares food items for each guest and runs the restaurant mostly by herself. She has mastered ? making scones that are layered to perfection and there are different flavors each month! Cary is a delightful person to be around and I have learned so much about tea each visit. Not only do I crave the delicious menu each month but I also look forward to time spent with sweet Cary. ❤️ PS- The lavender iced tea is a MUST.

We went for a girls tea party while on vacation. We had a lovely tea service - the tea was delightful, the food plentiful and excellent, the place settings beautiful and Carrie was very knowledgeable and shared much about the tea and process. Each month has a theme and June was strawberrries - yum! It’s a wonderful old fashioned tea room! We had a party with folks from 4 years old to 60 years old and we all had a delightful time!

I love tea parties...and this doesn't disappoint! I want to say this is one of the most special places! My mother was treated to her last 2 bday celebrations here. And my dear sister and I love coming here! We have made some treasured memories here. The owner is such a gracious hostess...and has become precious friend! It's a beautiful place to linger, enjoy good food, and share hearts! Highly recommend! Thank you, Carrie! Denise and Diane

Attended a private tea party with about 10 others at the beginning of December. The building is lovely and the tea service was beautiful. Delicious teas and treats! The owner gave gave us some interesting history on the building and helpful etiquette tips once we were all seated. Huge selection of loose teas! It was a truly lovely afternoon! Highly recommend!

I was recently part of a group for tea at Camella's. Lets just say hospitality was not on the menu. The owner was not happy that all the guests didn't arrive on time, at the same time. She did not like that the host of the party brought party favors for everyone, said "I don't have a table for those." Also, stated "there wasn't room on the tables" for sparkling grape juice for a toast. We were instructed where to sit at each table. Before we could begin, the owner gave her "shpeel," explaining how she started the business with her daughter, then her daughter went off to college and now it was just her and her son. She told about the old house and who had visited there in the past, I am not sure how any of this was relevant to tea. She gave no historical significance of tea time, tea parties, why people had them and who attended. Didn't even explain the beautiful place settings on the table. She did explain the two teas we had available. She was quick to tell us the rules. When someone requested water, she dreamingly responded "I can get it for you and not everyone else, there's not enough room on the table." When asked to take a group picture, we weren't allowed to do so on the front steps it had to be taken in her front room around her table of stuff. We also witnessed her yelling at her son in front of other customers in the ice-cream shop. Two Stars because the food and her service was good. However, I am not sure what I am supposed to remember?
