I'm visiting on business about 1 hour away in Greeneville, Tennessee and decided to drive to Abingdon, Virginia since I had never been to Virginia and this would be my 47th state visited. I came across Delta Blues BBQ and decided to have lunch there. I'm glad I did. I felt very welcomed by the young lady at the register. And I asked for a suggestion and she stated she personally enjoyed the pulled chicken sandwich, which I had. It was the best sandwich I have ever had...
Two floor restaurant with live bands playing upstairs. Downstairs is the sit down restaurant. Fried okra was fantastic. Loved the fry corn and collards. Fries were yummy. Ribs were tender. Burnt ends weren't as burnt as expected. Brisket was dry and flavorless, not even with salt. But I guess that's why they have the BBQ sauce bar area. Other tables were dipping their meats.
WOW!! I’ve eaten at quite a few bbq spots but none of them even compare to this one! Everything was hot and fresh, my pulled pork was so tender it was falling apart! Amazing atmosphere and the staff was so polite and friendly! Will definitely be back!
