Home Slice Cafe was like taking a nostalgic step back in time. The staff was kind and welcoming. It seemed that all the patrons knew each other, and there was a quiet hum of conversation, without being loud. The menu was bigger than I thought it would be and it took a while to make a decision. I ended up getting a big bowl of pinto beans and bacon, well seasoned potato cubes, plenty of onion, a slice of ham, cornbread and butter and coleslaw. I was quite full without being overstuffed...
Great food. Good ole country spot for the locals and pass byers. I definitely will stop it again if I'm out that way. I had the BLT with cheese it was good but I couldn't finish all my potatoes but not complaining.

We went around around lunchtime, and the parking lot was full. Surprisingly, we didn't wait long at all for our food.
It was a bit of a drive for us, but it was well worth it. We will definitely be going back!
