Its a nice spot to park and walk the creeper trail. Or if you like to fish it's good access to the south fork river . Also I love it because 38 people were baptized in the river across from it myself and my wife introduced.
Nice stopping point. You can sit by the river and have lunch or rest. 👍
Absolutely worth a stop --especially if you're DOING the trail: we'll equipped for bike repair and people needs! It's ALSO a beautiful spot for spending time along the river, poking around on the Creeper Trail or just enjoying the views. Take time for a visit!
Clean bathrooms, water and picnic area on the River …. a really nice stop on the Creeper Trail cycle path between Abingdon and Damascus. Good place to park for a shorter ride.
Good place to stop for bathroom break on Virginia Creeper trail. Visitor station provided good information for Abingdon.
Nothing special.
Convenient parking area for biking the segment between Abingdon and Damascus.

Pretty little station
Beautiful area, prayers for restoration and prosperity after the storm 🙏
Very nice old building to stop and look at a long the creeper trail
Midway between Damascus and Abingdon, this is a welcome stop on the Virginia Creeper for restrooms, water, and stretching your legs. But the old market/ cafe, which made it truly noteworthy, is now a short-term rental. Alas!
My husbands grandfather, Howard Pickel used to own the surrounding 500 acres all around the Old Alvaeredo Station and he donated the land for the church to be built. Their primary home was the Abingdon Donkey bed and breakfast on the corner. It's nice to always come back to visit and reminisce about his childhood, helping on the farm and fishing the creeks and rivers. I just love this place and you will too, worth putting on your bucket list.
