This was a pleasant surprise when we stopped in Abingdon, Virginia. The old house was charming and the food very tasty! For the most part all was good except our server never asked if we wanted something to drink. He just poured us some water in cups already on the tables, so we just went with that and didn't say anything. I ordered a Philly style steak sandwich which came on small hoagie roll. I didn't understand why I only had what looked like half a sandwich. Especially for $16.00! My husband ordered the Club P sandwich and that had two huge halves with three meats and lots of toppings on sourdough bread for $15.00. Both came with fresh cut fries. So if you want a bigger sandwich, make note of that so you're not as surprised as I was with such a small yet pricey sandwich! I'd definitely go back and try something else!

We always stop here when passing through but this time was a disappointment.
The staff were attentive and apologized the food was taking longer than usual due to a staff shortage.
The burger was tasteless and hard. The sweet potato fries were limp as if the oil wasn't hot enough when prepared. The chicken salad was tasteless and the chicken tough. Very disappointed because I know they have done so much better in the past.

What a nice find! A mom 'n pop restaurant in a small, quaint town (Abingdon VA) in a large, beautiful, red brick, neoclassical house with period furniture. Food was homemade, fresh, and very tasty. Prices were reasonable. Just a couple of miles off of U.S. Route 81. (It is not easy to spot from the street. Sign is small.)
The cheese steak here was amazing. Service was great, we had Andy as our server
