Service was awesome, but $40 for a rack of ribs with no sides really surprised us. The bbq sauce had lots of vinegar and didn’t mesh well with the seasoning on the ribs. The ribs themselves barely had any salt or flavor aside from smoke, and had no crisp on them whatsoever. They were tender but not fall off the bone and lacked any kind of bark. Overall, this place satisfies the urge for bbq, but if you’re looking for high quality flavor or texture I would say skip.

Perfect hole in the wall lunch spot. I had the pulled pork bbq sandwich platter. Any doubts I had about the pricing were quickly dispelled when I received my meal. The portions are more than generous and the food was downright amazing. Genuinely thinking about planning an event just to have them cater, and we don’t even live in Virginia.

I hadn't been to this amazing barbecue shack in 10 years. We went back 2 days ago, and it was as fantastic as I remembered. The first time we stopped it was because we were driving by and could smell the heavenly scent of authentic BBQ. The smokers are right out front. There's also picnic tables with umbrellas to sit at.
We got the ribs and the pulled pork and both were absolutely amazing. The mac and cheese is to die for. The baked beans were the best I've ever had. We also got banana pudding for dessert and it was delicious!
We showed up at the end of the day, so they didn't have any thick ribs left. When we picked up our order they let me know the deal, and made sure to let me know they threw in extra bones since they weren't as thick as they wanted. Ordered half rack and got 10 bones. You can't ask for a better business than this. It wasn't their fault, and I would have been happy regardless, but they made sure I was a happy customer.
We got a chance to talk with the owner and his son, and they were fantastic. Great guys!
