Owner was fun to talk to.

From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was amazing with every dish cooked to perfection. The drinks were equally impressive! This is my 4th time here and I have had a fantastic experience each time!!!!! Can't wait to come back!"

Was not comfortable with the alley entrance. Two females having to walk in an alley is not cool or comfortable. Seating and room lighting was nice. Low light but not dark. Can easily be romantic. However, music choice was very inappropriate. Loud disco music. We were told it's the owner's personal playlist. Owner was not present so workers had no access to change the music. Owner needs to consider better options. Meal was very good. Met expectations. However, I ordered Bread Pudding for dessert. Described to have caramel on it. No caramel present. Portion was the size of a golf ball. Pitiful for an upscale establishment. Yes, I would eat there again. But, I will never order dessert again. If the music hasn't changed on a second visit, it will be my last visit.

Monday 9/23/24 our group of 6 arrived with reservations for dinner. One of our couples tried 3xs to order a bottle of wine on the menu, but each one unavailable. one person in our group just couldn't get his cocktail to the table. The salad had arrived before the appys, and even before his cocktail. One couple was specific to when they wanted the salad to arrive. 2 cobbs arrived to one couple who asked to split as they had ordered quite alot, but they came as full salads, separately. and our salad came out as one. our steaks were not cooked to order. medium well should never be dark red. The accompanying asparagus was cold as were the garlic mashed. All the items came out at varying times and missing little things like the choice of sauce. and when asked for more whiskey sauce, the sauce brought was complete different and scaulding hot. the lobster tail on one meal was not hot. so many issues. almost comical. But one from our party approached the Manager on Duty, a female. He explained that we were having alot of issues with our orders. Her reply 'not interested in your opinion', and turned away. when the bills came, they were badly mixed up. and our waiter said the entree's were removed due to all the confusion. But he misspoke. 1 Appetizer 2 salads were removed. we worked out what we owed each other, because the bills were so badly mixed up, and left. so very disappointing to spend 750++ and not be able to get any of the wine listed, enjoy my steak, nor my garlic mashed, or asparagus due to their being ice cold. and when asking management for assistance, given discussion. Thinking of going? pack your patience, and be ready to take whatever they bring to the table. It may or may not be what you ordered.

It was our wedding anniversary and the staff at 1799 made us feel so special. The food was AMAZING, and so were the drinks. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is pricey, but when you get everything, it's worth every penny. We enjoyed several cocktails, the whiskey shrimp starter, we split the tomahawk steak with mac and cheese and ended the evening with a hazelnut cappuccino and blueberry crème brûlée and a chocolate lava cake.

Food was good but I expected a better quality of beef than what was served. Also, what is up with the plastic fork in the oysters? Steak knives are in desperate need of sharpening.

They take their dress code very seriously. “T shirt” pretty much means any top that is made of cotton. We sat at the bar area which was quite loud (as expected). The drinks were amazing and the Filet was seasoned well and cooked the way I ordered. We'll be back.

Poor acoustics and loud music. Water server was chomping on chewing gum. Waited a very long time for drinks to arrive. Waiter brought out salads and soups with the main entrees. When sent back, steak was later brought out barely warm and overcooked. Sides were tasty. Bread served warm with delicious sweet butter.

This was an amazing experience for our business meal with 5 people. The food was delicious, and the staff was incredible. Due to its small and intimate setting, I recommend making reservations a few weeks in advance. I will definitely return. 10/10

Go to this restaurant if you want an authentic restaurant experience. Everything from the drinks to the food was superb. The ambiance of the restaurant was exquisite. The service was excellent; the waitress was knowledgeable about the food offerings and made some good recommendations. The restaurant is on the pricey side, but it is worth it. Use the parking garage located across the street.

Parking: Parking garage is a few blocks away, but very inexpensive.

One of the best experiences I’ve had dining out. The service was impeccable and the food was even better. The hostess accommodated last minute changes to the reservation and everything had a touch of elegance and grace. It was a delicious experience all around! You will not be disappointed patronizing this very special restaurant. Thank you.

1799 always does a great job Jessica waited on us the previous trip and this time had Francisco. Both gave great recommendations for food and wine. Have taken 2 customers there and they have been impressed both times. Making me look good.

This was the best restaurant, food, and customer service I have in the United States. My wife and I celebrated her 35th birthday here and loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant to everyone!

We were out later in the evening about 9pm and found an interesting door to a restaurant on Pitt Street. We went in to get a night cap and what a wonderful surprise. There was an intimate bar area at the entrance filled with extremely well dressed clientele. The Mater d’ (Kirk) greeted us at the door and inquired if we had a reservation. We did not have one. Kirk asked if we would be comfortable on the patio and we were thrilled with what we discovered! Each step lead to a larger space with the fragrance of grilling steak filling the rooms. This is a premier steakhouse, I had not encountered before. Even though we had eaten earlier we were able to sample a few appetizers. They were extraordinary. The avocado toast, meatballs and shrimp were absolutely delicious. Kirk introduced us to our server, Marvin and his assistant Jefferson, who delivered the consummate fine dining experience even for just a quick drink at the end of the night. I can’t wait to go back when I have room for a great steak dinner!
