Food was amazing! Service was top tier. Drinks were perfect. Price is what should be expected for a steakhouse with an enjoyable experience. I loved the ambiance and diversity! The managers were readily available if we needed anything that required attention.

I've only dined here once and really enjoyed the food and service. When I saw their post for First Fridays, I knew this would be perfect time and place for a siblings outing. We ended up sitting in the bar area and just partaking in HH food and drinks versus all the First Fridays specials. Our server/bartender Brian was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. All of the staff were actually very warm and welcoming. My brother was impressed with the wide variety of spirits and commended the ownerJay, on the selections, when he stopped by to greet our table. The chef also came by to greet us and ensure we were enjoying our food.We started off with a round of hibiscus mules, old fashion and cosmopolitan, all part of the signature HH drinks. We dined on wings, truffle fries, fried green tomatoes, shrimp toast, lamb chops and steak rolls. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious, with no complaints from even the pickiest of picky eaters. They are rolling out a new drink that's a spin on a pina colada, so of course my brother wanted to try it. He wasn't a fan, maybe it's the white chocolate shavings on top, not sure, but Brian politely removed it. We ended the night with a round of Makers Mark shots vowing to return another night for dinner.

The place charges $1000 whether your party shows up or not. You pay the gratuity that is included would’ve minded it if my waiter wasn’t terrible. Explained a bunch things incorrectly. Food was ok. Maybe a place to go for a date but not a large party. Also a lot of their food has soy but it’s not listed as an ingredient. So if allergic be careful.

Birthday dinner for my sister while on a business trip.Price: $$-$$$ (our bill was $350+, and it was 3 ppl with several mixed drinks)Let's Talk About It!!!!!!Calamari was delicious order 2 for the table. The crab cakes were amazing all crab meat. My salmon was cooked to perfection!!! MY GOSH!!! IT WAS DELICIOUS.....my sister loved everything and saved it for lunch she ordered a fish dinner, and it covered the plate. I was a lot of food, or we just had too many starters. Our waitress, she was cute and funny but real! Forgot her name...... she took care of us completely! No issues at all, even gave my sister a cake for her birthday, awww how sweet!!!I normally have fine dining, and this was one of the better places. It is added to the FAVs, and I shall bring bae back, we look fine dining and good food!!Anywho, hands down better than Ruth Chris, Morton's, and Flemings. Do not argue with me in the replies I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT! I said what I said....the best!!!They even had a side bar section for the after work social. They served every vibe. Heard there was a lounge upstairs, Idk didn't see it for myself.

We have been here plenty of times for brunch and decided to try dinner however staff was rude over a pair of designer casual sweat pants, same style worn plenty of times during past brunch hours. We weren’t aware of the new clothing policy. However asked if we can sit in the bar area which is separated from the main dining room and still got turned away. There was not many people in the restaurant and they let someone in with a sports jersey (are you serious?). The guy first mentioned hoodies and my husband took it off as he had the appropriate shirt on underneath, then his response changed. You missed out on great business! Sad to say we will not return back to this establishment.

I meant to review this place when I was here about a month ago. I think my server's name was something like...Kat?? She was excellent! Also great, polished service from the young host, and the bartender was cool. Good drink menu. The soup of the day was some sort of locally sourced crab, which was cool. It's sad that the inside didn't have more original looking colonial elements, but we were seating next to the fireplace, which was cool. Bathroom was luxurious. This place must get packed on the weekend, because they even had a cool little wall seating, near the bar.

The food was great along with the service from our waitress was above average. I’m giving this establishment 2 stars because of how we were approached when we walked in. After the hostess greeted us, she told us, verbatim “I smell an Oder on you. Do you need time to freshen up?” We were caught off guard at the very rude comment. Apparently she was insinuating that we smelled like tobacco or weed but nobody in our group smokes. The way she approached us was very rude and ruined our mood before we even sat down.

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : Highly recommend. This is a #BlackOwned steakhouse in the DMV (located in Alexandria, VA) with a rich history tied the United States, former President George Washington, and Nellie Quander (an incorporator of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.).Aside from his impressive history, their food, atmosphere and service is top notch.Atmosphere ??: Truly an upscale dining experience, from the music to decor to cutlery. It’s a beautiful establishment. It’s great for a date night or a celebratory dinner.Service ??: We had great servers who assured we were comfortable, taken care of & fully understood the food offerings.Food ??: The food is impeccable. I ordered the salmon + green beans (hands down the best salmon I have EVER had); a wedge salad (equally as delightful — it all tasted fresh); and, the 1799 Penicillin cocktail (it was quite smooth). My check was about $70 dollars.I cannot wait to go back and recommend you visit as well!

Food was great, very friendly staff and food came out very quick. Keep up the customer service, love that different people come up to you other than your waiter to ask if you need anything. Only thing that needs work is the wait time. If I have a reservation I shouldn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated. Great Restaurant though will be back!

Attended a food pairing dinner event here. It was a really fun and cool dinner. I’m hearing depending on interest, 1799 Prime may do more of these dinners (at an affordable price) centered by other spirits (or even wines). So if you’re interested, definitely let the restaurant know you want to go to some in the future. This was the first time the restaurant did something like this, so it was almost like a test run/focus group. Everything went really smoothly, the staff had amazing hospitality, and the food was delicious. And I have to add, this was a special menu, so none of the items I will discuss are on their regular menu. Like the creole oyster rockefeller…. WOW! So good and flavorful. It had Jumbo Lump Crab Meat ,Cajun Spice, Cream Spinach, Garlic Herb Panko Crumbles, and a Lemon Emulsion! So you can imagine how good and flavorful it was! The second course included a filet, it was so tender and really good, I also wish I had more of that. The presentation and plating was 10/10.I also felt that the cocktails and flights paired really well. I really enjoy food pairing dinners because it exposes you to combinations you may have not previously thought of. And having representatives from Diageo was really nice because we got to learn about smart, talented, and successful women at the forefront of brands like Johnnie Walker, George Dickel, Kikori, and 21 Seeds. Also, I was mesmerized by 21 Seed’s infused tequila. It so light and tastes like a cocktail (but dangerous haha).Below was the menu:Welcome Flight:- Johnnie Walker Black- George Dickel Bourbon- Kikori Japanese WhiskeyFirst Course:- Creole Oyster Rockefeller (paired with 21 Seeds Cucumber Jalapeno)Second Course:- Surf & Turf: CAB Prime Cut Filet Medallion, Red Snapper, Lobster Salad, Garlic Kale, Potato Au Gratin, Saffron, Beurre Blanc, Crispy Leeks (paired with Crown Royal Blackberry New York Sour)Third Course:- Chef’s Special Dessert: Peanut butter, banana, and chocolate cheesecake (paired with Zacapa 23 Banana Old Fashioned)
