Best Tex Mex restaurant in the Alexandria - Belle Haven area. This is my go to spot when I'm craving Tex Mex. Food: If you dine in, make sure to get the steak fajitas - you won't be disappointed. The fajitas come out sizzling out, and the steak is actually of great quality and comes topped with melted butter for an added taste. Recently, I've been binging their Birria Tacos which are very tasty, and comes with great sauces. Service: the service is absolutely fantastic. I was able to chat with the owner and he is a very down to earth and authentic himself, great to support our local small businesses! Ambience: It is very clean and they do a great job of spacing our guests when it's not peak hours. They play great music, and the main area can even get lively as the night progresses. If you search Mexican food in Alexandria, a few will come up that's highly rated - but trust me, 2 Jefes is at the top.

It was a good experience. The service was really good. The food was okay. I came in search of birria. It was decent. Not the best that I've had but okay. The Margarita Caribbean was the best margarita I've ever had though. I had it with herradura tequila and the flavors were so good. I would return just for the margarita and it was also a nice size portion.

We all enjoyed our meals here on our first visit. Two of us had burritos & one had fajitas. The grilled steak in my burrito was perfectly seasoned & tender. This is also the first Mexican restaurant where they asked how my husband would like the steak cooked for his fajitas! The chips are delicate & devine. My only complaint is that my $18 margarita on the rocks was 90% rocks. I got about five sips out of it. Next time I’ll order a frozen.Parking: The lot shares a space with a convenience store, so it was pretty full.

Sat in the back patio today the first time at this restaurant It's a lot quieter than you would think especially along a busy road like Huntington avenue. Large margarita was delicious! As were the fajitas, and the chips and salsa. Definitely found a new favorite spot!

Let's get straight to it! My better half ordered the branzino fajitas. Ok, stop right there! When was the last time you saw branzino fajitas on any menu in the DMV? I'll wait. A whole branzino appeared. It was meaty and big and seasoned perfectly. The homemade black beans were cooked to perfection. My better half ate everything. Lawd, he'd have eaten the bones if he could. I had the seafood burrito. Huge portion. Delightful. I think I'd order something else next time, but it was pretty darned good. Service was fantastic. Even the owner came by and spoke to us for some time. A-+. We'll be back!

I had an excellent service, and they give you free chips while you wait for the food (something that I really liked). Also, I personally don't like any spicy food, but they also have non-spicy food for people who aren't into spicy food.

Jefes is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it gem of a restaurant. It may seem unassuming on the outside, but believe me when I say the food here is delicious! The tortilla soup was filled with fresh vegetables and delicious chicken, and was very filling! The margaritas were also delicious, and I highly recommend going for a skinny jalapeno margarita. The steak in the steak burritos was grilled to perfection and incredibly flavorful. The tortilla chips were light and airy, which means you don't get full on chips before your meal comes out. The salsa is also delicious, with a distinct smokey and not overly spicy taste. I will definitely come back!
