Always outstanding! We're so sorry that the restaurant will be closing later this year to make way for a new multi-story development. It will be a big loss for the neighborhood!

This has been a go to restaurant for nearly 20 years. We know it is closing but not exactly when. We will continue to patronize this place for as long as we can. WSe have great memories here

Always delicious. Always terrific service. A La Lucia is such a reliable gem. Pasta, salads, soups that never disappoint. We had the mussels for the first time and they were spectacular

This restaurant had good reviews. The food was blah. We ordered calamari, for $16 we received not even 10 pieces. The mouse desert for $9.50 was whipped cream with mouse piped on top to make it look like a full bowl. The booth had no cushion that I felt a rod or something the entire time I sat. Would not go back or recommend.

A favorite among locals that also draws people from across the DMV. Pasta dishes, fish, chicken, and veal are all specialties - and all delicious. Good selection of wine, including several offerings by-the-glass.

We've been here many times and is always enjoyable. This is the first time we were in the back room which is lovely. The service is always friendly and quick. The food is always tasty.

Better grab dinner here soon, as the building is being replaced with a new one and soon (sometime in 2024) there will be no more A La Lucia to visit...only to long for. Food is authentic; nice wine choices; homey and friendly restaurant. I'm very sad to see it go.

The restaurant week menu was very extensive and the food flavorful and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the rosemary flavored bread and olive oil, house specials including: involtini of eggplant, burrata, homemade fresh pasta, and manicotti . The meatballs were almost as good as my Zia's in Italy just need more parsley. The decor of Italian pottery, the cheerful customers and staff make for a heart warming evening. The coffee flavored panna cotta made for a delicious & generous finale. As an Italian American that cooks, I am picky. The cook exceeded my expectations! Enjoy!

Always a good experience. Visit before they close. The building the restaurant is in is being redeveloped. They don't have a closing date yet but once the developer has their permits they will be gone.

My only disappointment was the entree did not come with any vegetables; they were a la carte. Also it would have been nice if fruit was offered as dessert. Otherwise the service was very good as was the food, and the bread was outstanding.
I'm Italian. Everything that my wife and I had last night, we could prepare it better and make it tastier ourselves at home. The polenta was runny and the meatballs were lacking flavor. The veal scallopini was disappointing, with the mushroom sauce that was slathered on it being particularly gross. The tiramisu wasn't real tiramisu, just a poor imitation of it. Overall, a poor dinner with very little about it being truly Italian.

It's rare to go out to a restaurant and have every bite evokes “Wow!” Every dish was fantastic. The fresh bread was incredible. The Caesar Salad was perfect. Our pasta and main dishes were so flavorful. Why didn't we find this place sooner?! The party next to us had been regulars for years.

A really solid neighborhood restaurant that we've been going to for many years. It hasn't changed much over time and that's perfectly fine. A good choice for basic "red" Italian food in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

When are "server" came over to us she stared at us and said they said you were ready without smiling. We didn't tell anyone we were ready, nobody had even come over to us. There were multiple people helping us. We didn't know who to ask who for what. Noone smiled or greeted us. They did clear our table and refill waters but the atmosphere with the "servers" came off as very unfriendly and annoyed to be bothered.

I'm so happy this place answered their phone! The pasta was delicious and you can get a fabulous bottle of wine discounted. Our new "go to" place. And super nice people. ❤️
