I used to live in the apartment building above the restaurant and loved the convenience of having this restaurant so close by. Unfortunately, just before moving out, I had a really uncomfortable interaction with the restaurant’s manager. When I shared that the restaurant would be losing a customer as a result of his actions and words, the manager more or less responded: “Good.” Such an unfortunate situation as I did enjoy my meals on several occasions but will certainly never feel comfortable patronizing Bastille again :(
Amazing service and outstanding food. The wine selection was fantastic. Highly recommended.
If you're intimidated by French cuisine, Bastille is a great place to try locally sourced, healthy variations on classic French dishes. The kitchen is ready and willing to accommodate any food restrictions. The staff are friendly and happy to advise on choices. The Prix Fixe menu is a great deal, but I have to remember to save room for the delicious desserts.
Awesome neighborhood restaurant. The chef is creative and the staff is well trained. It's worth going
We had a wonderful dining experience as always. The restaurant was busy, but not too loud or quiet. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend!
Bastille is such a consistently good dining experience that I don't know go more often! From the greeting at the front door to the very engaging server and solicitous team there, we had a very enjoyable evening. We did the prix fixe dinner — bread and butter was really flavorful, the escargots were excellent, the beef bourguignon was perfect and so much that i had to take some home, and the duck was beautifully cooked with a lovely gastrique on the side. the carrots on both dishes were notably tasty (we both commented). We closed the meal with dessert. While i really enjoyed my profiteroles, my mom's coupe normande stole the show. It was fabulous with the apple compote and the caramel and icecream. As long as that's on the menu, i won't think about any other options.
Lovely French place with great happy hour cocktails and food. I've celebrated my birthday there and they sent me one of the best creme brulee I've ever had and Happy Birthday wishes, which was very thoughtful of them. I would definitely recommend this place and visit again.

was one of the most enjoyable nights I've had out with my friends in a long time thank you guys for taking care of us last night and making my friends's birthday special!
This delightful French restaurant, created by Chef Cristophe, tucked in Alexandria, a stone's throw from DC, is well worth a visit. You will feel like you are in France when you walk in. The attentive, but not overbearing, staff allow you to take your time, enjoying each dish beautifully prepared and presented to you. The Prix Fixe dinner is of great value, allowing you to choose your 3 courses. (I highly recommend the Scallops Risotto) The wine list is carefully curated so you will find something you enjoy, or have a cocktail, like the perfect martini. You cannot go wrong with anything you might order. In good weather, the patio would be a lovely option for dining, also.

Bastille Brasserie & Bar is such a great spot if you’re into that classic French bistro vibe with really tasty food to match. The dishes are full of flavor and beautifully presented—everything felt authentic but still approachable. I loved the cozy, stylish atmosphere, perfect for a date night or catching up with friends over good wine and great food. The service was attentive without being stuffy, which made the whole experience super enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

We were welcomed with warmth, seated swiftly at a perfect table, and we had ample opportunity to review the menu and make our selections. The food was fabulous from the bread to the scallops to the salmon and the steak frites. And, of course, the dessert was perfect, though it was a difficult choice. A perfect evening.
Had burgers and Bordeaux special on Wednesday night. Sat at the bar. Great food, burgers were perfect (one well done, one medium rare), wine was delicious, and great conversation with the bartender and folks also at the bar. Always a fun time at Bastille!
Our dining experiences at Bastille are always enjoyable! Many of the menu options change with the season and the plats de mois are delicious! The service staff are always friendly and courteous!
Magnifique, as always. The duck confit was perfectly prepared with simple, flavorful haricots and potatoes. Superior service. Best kept neighborhood secret in the DMV. I shouldn't be sharing.....
