This place has good food, some innovative twists…but it never fails that the food takes FOREVER to come out. Currently 30 minutes for a breakfast burrito and kids pasta order. This is the third time it has taken this long. Only come back because my kid begged me. Really wish they would fix this.

I really didn't love my meals the few times I went there. The food didn't taste fresh, for example, my tots tasted like they were warmed up in a microwave. Plus, they didn't have jackfruit for the vegan offerings.
The food is amazing. Also Bun Papa is a funny and great name. I tried breakfast here a year ago, the country fried steak was awesome. I am now here a year later to eat the Bun Papa burgers.

This latest visit was unbelievable--in a bad way. The moment I walked in, the scene was chaotic. There were quite a few people waiting to be seated, but none of us got even a nod of recognition. Some waitresses were just standing around, seemingly unbothered, and then there was the guy who looked like the manager. He popped out, still yapping on his phone, gave us a quick "someone will be with you shortly" without making any eye contact, and then just wandered off continuing his call.
But here's the real kicker--the place was a mess. It looked like they might have had a big party before I got there because there were dirty dishes piled up everywhere. Counters, tables, you name it. For a spot that prides itself as a cozy diner, seeing it in such disarray was a major turn-off.
So, that was enough for me. I just turned around and walked out. I didn't even bother waiting to see if the food quality had gone downhill too. It's a shame because it's really an eating establishment, and no one wants to dine amidst a mess. Disappointed is an understatement--I really hope they pull it together and get back to the standards they once upheld.

11/2024 visit
Great customer service
Brussels for appetizer was good.
A lot of options weren't available that I requested but I was advised they had a heavy Sunday load of customers. I understand; hopefully that's anticipated to order more than usual for an expected high demand.
I ordered a few sides, chicken, chorizo, and eggs. All was dry but was good.
Decent prices as well.

Food was late coming out and cold. Server spent his time gabbing with everyone instead of checking on my food.

Cheers to curiosity. You know that saying "curiosity killed the cat?" Well, the cats definitely dead. Arrived to the restaurant the place was crowded all the booths were taken, and they had seating at the counter. Seeing that all the booths were taken we took that as a great sign, business is good. We decided to sit at the counter and waited to be greeted and receive a menu. Took about 5 minutes for us to get a menu, but then again we walked up to where the menus were and asked for one.... This didn't bother us too much. We were finally greeted and given water, and placed our drink order. Took about 5 minutes for us to get one of our drinks, and then about another 5 minutes for the next one. We asked for sugar and cream for our coffees, surprisingly it was quick to get but we opened a creamer and noticed that it was bad. See photo. We did alert one of the staff to this and she promptly apologized and got us different creamer. Our food came out fast and looked good. We asked for Jam and ketchup, we did receive the jam quickly but as for the ketchup we never received it. We asked our waitress and another one, by the time the second waitress remembered we finished our meal. Service wasn't that good given that the rush settled while we were there and alot of staff. Food was okay but not for the price we paid. We are probably not going to return unless the pie is good.
Delicious and fresh food! Tori took wonderful care of us and delivered our food with utmost care. We had four different dishes and each one was prepared so well! Yummy food, can’t wait to come back.

This truly is a traditional diner, albeit with an expanded menu. The food is reliably good; I have never been disappointed. The service is a highlight. The servers have always been personable and helpful, without being intrusive.
Wheelchair accessibility: Should be fine. Front entrance and restrooms are on main level.

The waiter was super nice and helpful, I believe his name was David, if I'm remembering correctly. The decor is cute and very on-theme. I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese and the lemon drop cake. The lemon drop cake was so good, I want to go back for that.

Creampie is incredible
This might be the dirtiest place I've ever tried to eat in. The service is horrific. The people serving here have should not be in any hospitality position at all. Management DOES NOT CARE, owners DO NOT CARE. This place is disgusting all the way around, food, service, atmosphere are all horrible here. Alexandria should take their business license away. It really is that bad.
