No carts in the store. You walk I / no carts. I don’t buy what I can’t carry in my two hands. Just go to Costco and Sam’s where members matter.

Due to the most recent events during my employment at BJ’s, it has caused me to question if said events are discriminatory, unethical, retaliatory and a misrepresentation of my character by BJ’s management. I have listed below events which cause these actions from the BJ’s Management team into question. Discriminatory/Unethical Event I applied for the Meat Manager position immediately after the position became available, showing my 14 years of working in meat departments and 14 years of meat cutting experience. I was never contacted by Human Resources or BJ’s Management team to interview for this position. On July 2, 2021, after the Hiring of Meat Manager position, I was asked to show proof of my application. I have tried to retrieve my applied application for Meat Manager position on the BJ’s site from which I applied for the Meat Manager position, and it is no longer on the site. My name and application have been removed from the site. (The computer from which I applied shows different – I saved my application and the date sent). Kenneth Hornick – was hired as new Meat Manager – whom have less experience in Meat departments and Meat Cutting – I was asked by Kenneth to show him how to cut certain cuts of meat. Since my Employment at BJ’s my raises have been $0.10. When I asked management why my pay raises were so low, I was informed that I was at my pay cap. I later was told this was not true and Mr. Curtis – Store Manager stated he would investigate me receiving an increased salary. Retaliation and Misrepresentation of Character On Thursday, July 1, 2021, after my shift. I called the Human Resources Representative – Ms. Linda, to speak to her regarding my frustration and my perception of how I was being treated. On this call, I informed the Human Resources Representative – Ms. Linda, of the following concerns: · The Lack of concern from James – Assistant Store Manager of me not taking breaks or lunch to help the department and still not allowing the 1:30 request. · The new Meat Manager Kenneth Hornick’s , attitude towards me and how he does not help me and stands and watch me cut meat during the duration of my shift. · I was asked by the new Meat Manager – Kenneth Hornick – to show him how to cut a, specified cuts of meat. I expressed my confusion of how a Meat Manager can be hired when he cannot cut meat. · I Informed Ms. Linda – Human Resources Representative of me applying for the Meat Manager position and I was not interviewed for the position although I have 14 years of experience working in Meat Departments and Cutting Meat. · I felt the New Meat Manager – Kenneth Hornick and Jose – new meat cutter was manipulating the schedule in their favor. · I was informed by Human Resources Representative – Linda, I would be meeting with Curtis – Store Manager – Friday, July 2, 2021 regarding my concerns. · On July 2, 2021, I was on the closing shift from 1:00pm – 9:00pm. I was called in the office by Curtis – Store Manager at approximately 1:10pm. · Mr. Curtis inquired about what happened on July 1, 2021. I informed Mr. Curtis, of the events of Jose calling out and James – Assistant Store Manager told me regardless of lack of lunch break I needed to stay until 2:00pm. I informed him I stayed. · Mr. Curtis, then stated he told James to tell me to cut extra meat. I informed Mr. Curtis his request was never stated to me by James. · Mr. Curtis, then asked me to show proof on my phone that I applied for the Meat Managers position. I asked him would it not be easier for him to pull it up from his computer. Mr. Curtis, then stated, he did not like my attitude and to leave and do not return until he calls me back. · As requested, I left my shift and did receive word of termination until this morning Monday, July 12, 2021. · I was puzzled on why he said attitude.
