I had a terrific time at dinner this week at The Tasting Room. I stopped in because the sign out front caught my attention something along the lines of "Our bartender is cheaper to talk to than your therapist." I was lucky to sit at the bar, and I in fact had a wonderful time talking with the bartender. I believe her name was Alexandria. She let me know that a few things were not available behind the bar due to a recent purchase of the hotel and restaurant, which did not really change my experience. I was disappointed that there were no tea leaves for a tequila drink I saw on the menu. It would have made for a fantastic drink, and for those that like drinks worthy of pictures, this would be it. The smoked old-fashioned was what I settled on, and I was not disappointed. Food was delicious, service was outstanding, and my experience was for sure influenced by the bartender.

My husband and I stopped in here to have a couple drinks and a light meal. The cocktails were fresh, innovative and tasty! We had a couple appetizers and they were very flavorful! We also really want to shine a spotlight on our amazing server, Tashika!! She was an absolute gem! She talked us through the menu, knew the ingredients and made us feel so welcomed as if she has known us for years. She was so easy to talk to and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with her! We will certainly return and hopefully she can take care of us another time! Her service is top tier!

Great food and service. The price is very reasonable given the quality of the food. I highly recommend! We just stopped in while walking.

Vegetarian options: My daughter is a vegetarian and loved the 2 items she ordered

Kid-friendliness: My kids loved the flatbread pizzas and they were able to alter the toppings for them.

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and Alex was our bartender. She was exceptionally gracious and pleasant despite the fact the kitchen ovens were down and we had a very limited menu. She gave us outstanding service and we will return because of her hospitality.

Do not come here for breakfast as Lorien hotel tells you to do. I waited there 35 mins to get two eggs and beacon… for 16 $ which is the most expensive option they have you get dry beacon which turns into dust the moment you touch it, the saddest ever hasbrown and that’s it… not event a plate of fruits. Also you have to pay separately for water and coffee 7 and 6 dollars respectively. I left disappointed and hungry. The Lorien hotel needs to do something about there breakfasts as it spoils the hotel stay. We paid 56 dollars for two people below avarage breakfast which is outrages.

In a word, expensive. I ordered a simple classic martini, which wasn’t listed on the menu — $22. That’s just offensive. My wife and I split a few apps, she had a $15 glass of wine, and $120 later with tip we said adios to The Tasting Room. For the money there are much better experiences to be had in Old Town.

Service is EXTREMELY slow today for lunch. First time back since they reopened and while the food is still good, it took 30 minutes to get a cold appetizer and we are one of two tables occupied! The waitress hasn't smiled once during the entire rime we've been sitting here and has very little energy. Very disappointing to come back to this!

Food was pretty good but the service was extremely slow; took 40 min to get appetizer (cheese board), we were actually about to leave when it finally came. Waiter was nowhere to be seen. Lunch menu is extremely limited, maybe it’s a better place for dinner, too bad it feels like they kind of gave up on lunch.

This was a nice place had a very nice setting so we decided to give it a try. We arrived at 10am and was told you have till 1030 to order breakfast. The waitress didn't come back to our table till 1027 which was fine cause we got to order breakfast still. I ordered a chocolate milk and it came out milk with the chocolate not stirred in at all. My breakfast everything was overcooked. My hashbrowns and bacon was burnt. Eggs where salty. Overall probably won't return.

Their crustless quiche has sausage in it, but does not state that on the menu. This is a huge disappointment as a vegetarian, and would be even worse for someone who abstains from pork for religious reasons, or is allergic. An egregious oversight for an Alexandria eatery.
