Love this place. Fantastic atmosphere for a quick grab or sit and do work a bit. Loved their burgers, breakfast all day and coffee. My only fix is their hot dark chocolate, watered down. Overall, I can tell owners are hands on, seen greeting customers and prepping. The service is warm and professional. A great neighborhood find.

A regular stop for me. Staff is friendly and efficient. Their lunch (under the restraunt name of Bun Papa) is very good too. For dessert the carrot cake excellent.

First time visiting and the food did not disappoint.

Only reason “atmosphere” is 4 is associated with dine in. Not really a dine-in location. It does have seating outside but inside is limited to one shared table. (8)

Place is super nice especially for grab and go.

Tucked away in Alexandria, this cozy bakery was interesting to check out! I arrived around 10 am and display was kinda underwhelming. We tried their bread and it was nice and fluffy! However, their staff seemed tired, bored, which is somewhat understandable...

I went here today to try the breakfast sandwich that everyone has raved about. The breakfast sandwich is fantastic and I think this is the best bacon I've honestly ever have. Everyone was super friendly and I had great service. I will definitely be coming here again!

There are not enough stars to communicate how my experience has been with Bread & Water.
The customer service is consistent and friendly. It is easy to customize menu items.
The food is spectacular and breathtaking. The BLT, chicken pot pie, carrott cake and a hot dog on a roll that is an expeience all by itself. The list goes on.
The owner, Markos, is personable and greets me almost every time I go in. It is clear that he has a passion for his business and
his customers. I feel confident telling everyone that it is an experience you must not miss.

Just ate the worst croissant I've ever had. Tasted exactly like the crap one u get from Cosco...really wondering if it was actually made by them or if it was brought in. IF they did make it there is something very wrong. This was a chocolate croissant...the almond ones are waay worse.

I just wrote this in hopes they'll put me on their wall of reviews. Oh and also they have hands down the best sandwiches in the DMV with the nicest staff. That's pretty cool too

My first time at Bread & Water, Belle View, Alexandria, VA. Never again. I had a BLT, bag of chips & medium ice tea. $20. First of all, too expensive for what I had. The sandwich was terrible. Way too much lettuce (had to remove some). The bacon was too thick, too chewy, had to bite down too hard, like leather almost. Skip it.

Got burnt french toast and latte (acceptable quality) on 6/14/25. Staff unfriendly and rude toward brown skinned customer. Probably assumed I was uber guy. Will not go back. Safeway next door has coffee, sandwiches and pastries.

I got waffles, and they were amazing!! The coffee was also great. I also really appreciate the utensils being wooden.

First time here. Definitely coming back

This used to be my go to bakery - the quality has nose dived over the last 5 yrs as they’ve expanded. You can’t even get a decent baguette anymore, I just picked up my last order and after getting served a baguette that two people ahead of me in line passed on because it’s grocery store quality now - I’m out. & I’m not coming back. Such a shame.
