Wonderful champagne and wine bar in Old Town. Offer tasty nibbles to have with your wine/champagne but you go there for the libation not food. Popular, can get quite busy on weekends.

If you are looking for a quaint neighborhood spot, this is it! However, if you’re looking for educated staff that can suggest, ok yes again, this is it. But, if you want to sit alone and not talk to people who enjoy wine, or share with others the origin of the coupe when sipping champagne, this might not be the spot. Both guests and staff are engaging, and go about their existence quietly. I ended up chatting to a fellow about food and wine and travel and a couple exploring bubbles from corners unknown. I literately can’t wait to go back. If Cheers had a mature and evolved baby that grew up and served wine.

Exceptional. An elevated wine list, sublime food to go with served by a small team of smart, caring professionals in a chic intimate but friendly setting. An absolute treat for both locals and people visiting Old Town Alexandria.

Wine was good, waitress was very helpful, manager was abrasive.

Our absolute favorite place!!! I am French and have a very particular pallet. My wife and I both LOVE everything they’ve ever served us both food and wine/champagne. Dustin and Nikki are the absolute best! We can’t stay away from this place!!!

They have a variety of wines and champagne. They average between 15-25 a glass. We found the bottle to be more cost affective because we each got almost 2 glasses each, Bottles range from 60-100+. The atmosphere was nice and cozy with high top tables and bar seating. We didn’t have food but everything looked delicious based on what other costumers ordered. We ordered the Mai Sentito sparkling wine, which was very light, citrusy, and refreshing. I’m not a huge wine drinker but if you are this is a great place to come to try out wines from different areas. Would be perfect for date night.

I love this spot and the staff and feel the need to dispute the negative comments that were recently written.

First off, the group that was “met with disdain” had a minimum of 25 people which collectively fills up the entirety of the champagne bar’s interior.

Not only were they rude, rowdy and disrespectful, they chased out the other guests that had already been dining in the establishment.

They then proceeded to harass the staff to the point where it was unanimously decided - after the staff had tried to accommodate them as best they could - that they had to go.

After embarrassing themselves a bit longer, the group finally left as chaotically as they appeared, bad mouthing everyone on their way out.

It should be noted that on their website it clearly states that the largest parties that they can accommodate are parties of 4 maximum.

The best place to spend an evening in old town. Dustin and Nikki are so knowledgeable on their wines. We’ve stopped in to pick up wine for dinner at home and they know the perfect pairing for our meals. Also, the atmosphere is intimate at Brut, where everybody knows your name and is happy to be there. Over the years we have realize that Brut has the best selection of wine in Alexandria, and the best value. Brut has been open 17 years and counting, and it shows. A true gem of old town Alexandria.

The cutest little wine bar tucked away in old town. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Wine and snacks were delicious. Romantic vibe. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Walked in with a large group. Everybody ordered. Manager first asked us to not block the aisles. Then she asked us to consolidate our party. Then with a clearly bad attitude told us they were at capacity (they were not) and set down our check. Told another member of our party that we needed to move on, even though people were still drinking wine they just purchased. Would not go back.

Stopped in tonight with a group wanting some precelebratory drinks before the real dinner party. Unfortunately, our group was met with disdain almost immediately. While it was a relatively large group, we stayed to the back of the establishment. After being there for about 30 minutes, we were approached and asked when our group would be leaving. The explanation given was that we were "too big for the space" even though there were still open tables in the room. This desire to get us to leave was further reinforced not much later when our tabs were closed without our request and the bills brought to each of us. As we left and fairly questioned the treatment, we were now told that "we weren't spending any money" even though EVERY member of our group had bought a glass of champagne or wine. Needless to say, this isn't the way you treat a group of paying customers, at least not if you truly desire to be known as a welcoming business.

A lovely little wine bar with an excellent selection! The service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, contributing to the great atmosphere. We tried a few appetizers, and all were very good.
