Horrible experience. The server was extremely rude and we had to ask multiple times to get water refills. She also flagged us down as we were about to exit the door and told us that we shouldn’t come back because we did not tip enough (she was an absent-minded server who made our party feel very uncomfortable and neglected. We are always generous tippers but she truly was out of it). I think the staff managers should discourage this kind of behavior. The food was mediocre and the silverware was not clean (the server did not bother to change out our plates even when we asked her. There was old food residue on our forks). Would not go back. There are cheaper alternatives that serve way better food and have caring and welcoming staff members. Very disappointing!!

We had a wonderful dinner at the Chart House. We enjoyed our crab stuffed shrimp and the crab dip. The service was impeccable. Very impressive visit.

Delicious meal, I had the 14oz New York Strip with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. To get it over the top, I added Mushroom Truffle Butter, wow, amazing. Great view of the water, beautiful old DC. A little slow on the server time, but worth the wait.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Everyone's meal was delicious, with tons of flavor and good serving sizes. It took longer than expected to receive our food after ordering, but it was worth the wait. Two of us ordered from the brunch menu. I had the egg white omelet with grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, and cheddar grits. Another had eggs benedict with lobster, on top of fried green tomatoes. Another ordered Cantonese sea bass and mashed potatoes from the dinner menu. For dessert, we had cheesecake, key lime pie, and the lava cake. All yummy! Mark, our server, was pleasant and very helpful. Of course, the river view was delightful. I look forward to dining here again.

I have been to other Chart House locations and loved it but this one was incredibly underwhelming and disappointing. Our group of 7 went to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We were seated and the waiter immediately took our drink and appetizer orders, provided us with water and said he would bring bread out soon. 45 minutes later, no sign of any waitstaff, no bread or water refills or ANYTHING. It was now 10pm when our drinks finally showed up at the table shortly followed by the apps. The dinner entrees took an additional 45 minutes and seemed like they had been sitting under heating lamps for a while, as sauce on the plates was petrified. As if this wasn’t already a bad enough experience, our group then noticed a mouse scurrying around adjacent tables. We couldn’t get out fast enough and as much as I loved the Chart House from previous encounters, I will never return to this establishment and encourage others to do the same.
My first experience at the Alexandria VA location was not terrible. However, it could have been better. I had a party of 8. The waitress was polite but didn't appear to know the menu well enough to be on her own. I don't blame the waitress. Accountability should be with management. 3 out of the 8 of us had issues with our meal. I didn't get the proper steak, another person didn't receive any of her meal courses without being asked several times and Oysters were ordered because the waitress said it was served with a specific ingredient. Turns out the waitress had no Idea. The bread was so hard we couldn't bite into it. Otherwise, our meals were wonderful. I will eat here again with hopes of better service next time

After seeing many bad reviews from years ago, I wasn't expecting to be impressed. The three course meal (soup or salad, entree, and Lava Cake dessert) was phenomenally good. Our waiter (Mark?) was the best -- attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely pleasant. We requested a table looking out on the wharf and they accommodated our request.
