Above average ice cream stand (no inside seating) with limited outdid table. We had pineapple sorbet, which was quite good. There are tiny pineapple piece I can taste, I think it's chopped dried pineapple they added. Someone had good looking banana split. Next door is a good pizza place with lots of seating..so you can hit both.. it was like $5 for a cup of pineapple sorbet, they make it there. Always long line on nice days, so come with friends to chit chat while u wait..

The workers were very polite and speedy service. Kiddie sizes are awesome for the littles. Will certainly be back.

The special flavor was peanut butter banana and it was delicious! I kept expecting nilla wafers because the texture of the frozen peanut butter was something I hadn't experienced before but a pleasant surprise because it wasn't overly sweet. The sorbets are also nothing to frown about. The lemon is mouth puckering satisfying and the strawberry is yummy and sweet.

Really enjoy the neighborhood vibe of the Custard Shack. Everyone is very friendly. I only wish they were open everyday in the winter!

Yes please. I had the chance to visit this place twice, when I was in the neighbourhood. In 2018 and in 2023. Both times I wanted to go there again the next day. But unfortunatelly, the road goes ever on and on. It is so tasty!

Although their hours are odd, this is THE place to get good custard! Their chocolate milkshake is to die for! The service is always good too... It's just a nice local spot to get good ice cream and hangout... We will be going back for years to come!

At the custard shack, you can have your custard and eat it too.My friend said I HAD to try custard at "a place in Belle Haven" after happy hour 10 minutes away. We got there around 7:15/7:30pm on a Friday night and there was a line of 5 people at the order line and a crowd near the pick up window. We had to wait a while to order and to get our orders but there was only one person working, and I felt so bad for her. She kept a smile on her face and was so pleasant, polite, and apologetic. Her demeanor made it so I didn't mind the wait too terribly--I felt too bad to be angry. We got the chocolate oreo and cookies and cream, and they were both amazing! I liked the cookies and cream a little better. From what I hear, they always have vanilla and chocolate and then they have a flavor of the week. They also have milkshakes, sundaes, sherbet. It's a shack and they do not have indoor seating. There are some seats outside but we ended up eating in the car because it was so cold. Oh--they have a parking lot but it was packed, took me awhile to get a spot by circling around and waiting. There were some cars who were parked on the street.

A neighborhood, casual place with truly excellent food: wings, sandwiches and pizza plus a very nicely curated selection of draft beers. Pretty busy on a Saturday night, so lots of people and pretty noisy, sort of what you would expect, except for the excellent sandwiches

A local favorite and slice of Americana. Their flavors of the day change frequently and they give a good military discount so be sure to ask. Friendly service and good food. The only downsides are poor parking and even more limited seating.

Definitely come out and support our local business. Found this hidden ice cream place when I was looking for places to have a date. It’s definitely quiet and have many different dessert choices. Seating is limited though. But make sure to stop by and try out the daily specials.

We live less than a mile from the custard shack so we were really excited to try this place. That pretty much ended after we parked, opened our doors, and were overwhelmed by the smell of sewage. We decided to overlook the initial smell and still order custard. My husband had to follow up after everyone in line behind us received their order...it turns out they "lost our ticket" ??? Most ice cream/custard places just scoop as you order. The Kit Kat custard tasted like it was freezer burned...the custard had crystallized and it was crunchy vs thick and smooth. They have picnic tables to sit at that back up to the restaurant next doors trash so not only was there the smell of sewage in the air, but it mixed with the smell of trash and their mural could use a face lift as it's peeling and chipping. Not a pleasant experience! Save your money and go to Dairy Godmother in Del Ray.

A classic walk-up ice cream shop, which is somewhat of a rarity for this area. The actual shack is as unassuming as the name, but don’t be fooled. Custard Shack delivers where it counts. They also have a rotating menu of flavors.
