Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant & Bar

We all tried a bite of each other's food, and all of us had a great meal. I got the Spice Bag, and it was absolutely delicious. It's not too hot, chicken pleasantly crispy, excellent curry gravy dip. The outdoor patio was so fun to sit at and watch the people below.

Food was delicious. They got 2 orders wrong but it was ok. Very busy. Table behind us was really loud but overall good experience. Our server was very nice.

Wife had the Citrus Beet salad, loved it. I had the Shepards pie and it was amazing, best thing i'd eaten all month. I'd have ordered another if we had more time to eat! Service was meh, they forgot our dressing so we had to hunt our waiter down and took forever with the check, which was a bit disappointing since it wasnt busy at all. I'd eat there again, was a good experience overall!

We went to eat and drinks through out the day. Great spot but the bartender seemed overwhelmed at first a bit moody

Came in a couple of times with our sales team to compare notes, and both times, we had good drinks, a nice atmosphere in which to talk, and a helpful bartender.
I'm seldom in this area, but I'll definitely stop by when I am.

Beware of their scam! A 20 percent tip was automatically added to our six-person bill ( without acknowledgment of it) - and upon paying our bill, their system asked what tip we wanted to add! Imagine our surprise when, that night, we examined our bill and found we’d given them an unplanned 40 percent tip! We went back to the restaurant the next day to politely ask them to refund the second 20% tip. They refused! What a scam!

Ironically, this tipping scam happened after we’d all commented on how bland our food was. My chicken pot pie was more like a tasteless chicken soup. So disappointing!

So, we not only experienced terrible food, but terrible management, too!! There’s so many other great restaurants to choose from in Old Town Alexandria, don’t bother with Daniel O’Connells!

Great atmosphere with live music when I was there on a Monday night. Few beers on tap, including the Guinness of course. Friendly service and mature crowd.

Truly the finest Irish pub experience this side of King St. Be sure to order the Shepherd's pie and enjoy some of greatest comfort food in existence.

What a fun bar in OTA! A must see, as it's charming inside. Reminds me of a historic tavern.

Food is good, but too overcooked chicken wraps. Drinks professional.
