Great brunch! The black and white pudding were especially fantastic. One of the very few spots in the area with scotch eggs! Light crispy panko breading. Excellent.

the two desserts we ordered were good, but they came before our water. the seemingly annoyed hostess dragged us upstairs to the third floor where there was live (karaoke?) music that was so loud we immediately turned around and clamoured back downstairs without sitting. we asked for a quieter seat inside or outside, and we were at next to two tables of loud drunk people whom the hostess complained to us about. no one checked on us ever again, we paid the host cash when we left because we feared the server had forgotten us. it's such a good location, but not good if you want to talk to and hear each other while dining.

One of the best, if not THE BEST places to enjoy a cold Guinness and a great meal in Old town.
Decorated beautifully inside with old world charm and an amazing atmosphere. It feels like you’ve stepped back in time - away from all of today’s stress. Check out the upstairs patio area - enjoy the night air, a cold beer and the nightlife on the street below.

Love the vibe, like the bartenders, tolerate some of the bar flies. The beer is great, physically the bar is amazing, and the food is quite good.

A little slice of Iteland in Old Town.

Sadly the meat was dry. Cooked way too long. It was pretty loud in there. Might be a place for others, but for me it missed the mark.

The food, atmosphere and, especially, the staff, are top notch. IMHO the best bar/pub not just in old town, but in the whole city of Alexandria by far. I have tried to discover my favorite bar in Alexandria and visited quite a few, and not one stands a chance next to this one.

The Irish breakfast was the bomb! Wish I had gotten here earlier in the week, but my schedule didn’t allow me. Great pint of Guinness, but the Magners was a little flat.

The service is great, only greater was the amazing food. The nachos were great, the house chips are a great touch. I am confused about the Spanish music in an Irish bar, but everything else was on point. A great stop!!

Food, service and atmosphere were very good. Parking is a pain for this location, and it can be busy at times. Took a while for the hostess to seat us.

O’Connell’s Pub is a gem! Elmer and Tyler, who served us, were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The entire staff created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that really added to the experience. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The drinks were just as impressive, especially the Irish Crush made with Captain Morgan. It was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and full of flavor. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or enjoying a full meal and drinks, O’Connell’s delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!
