Greeting cards, beer, wine, groceries, made to order food and lottery tickets. Nothing else needed.

This little deli and convenience store is adorable! I visited recently just to get water and a bag of chips, but was amazed about the selection of different types of items that this deli and convenience shop has. They have a wide variety of chips, other snacks, wine, cards, postcards, etc, in addition to having a pretty wide deli menu. Located conveniently on King Street in Old Town Alexandria, and just a few blocks away from the King Street metro, this deli is very accessible and is a great one stop shop for various items you may need. I definitely plan to visit again!

Nice little local shop. They make some pretty good sandwiches compared to the stagedoor across the street. Friendly and clean.

My participants loved the service and the choices.

This place does accept credit cards, $5.00 limit. The atm does not charge $10.00 per transaction. Idk what this other guy is talking about. And the food is pretty good. Just had their new chicken rice bowl and it was excellent!

I went to Deli, News & More after running an errand on King Street on 3/13/18. I was looking for a quick bite to eat. I was surprised by the number of healthy choices available at this deli. I ordered the hummus sandwich. I have no complaints about the quality of food. My sandwich tasted exactly like it was described on their menu board. The deli is also part convenience store which I liked because I was able to pick up some snacks to go along with my sandwich. They offer things like your traditional convenience snacks and special things like veggie chips. I will say I thought the price was a little higher than what I might expect for hummus and vegetables. However, their location is on King Street so I assume some of the price I am paying is for their rent. The service (or at least when I went around 5:30 pm) was a little slow which might have something to do with time I was there (sure it is not their "peak hours"). In a nutshell, not a bad choice for snacks and/or something more substantial to eat.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the sandwich was. I came after the lunch rush and didn't wait long at all. My interaction with the cook was a little awkward but I think it was mainly a language barrier and she was a little shy to speak. The cashier who seemed like the owner or at least the manager wasn't as friendly as you would expect. He was a little bothered that I brought my chips to the counter to pay. I learned that I was supposed to hand them I the cook to package with my sandwich (as pictured). I had no way of knowing that but I do now for next time.

I have lunch here a few times a week. They offer a cheap lunch special ($6.29 at the time of this review) with 2 different sandwiches to choose from every day. The special includes Utz chips, a pickle, and a canned soda. The wait for the food can be several minutes during lunchtime, but I've never waited more than 15 minutes or so. The portions are decent, the owner is friendly, and if the need arises, they also sell birthday cards in the store side.

I stopped by to purchase some water. The cashier/owner seemed very nice, and a woman was behind the sandwich counter. Prices are marked on many of the beverages but items are pretty typical of what you see at a convenient store. I like that it's very clean too!
