Cute little cafe/ice cream place with lots of tasty options. I got the frozen lemonade and it was so refreshing on a warm day after walking around Old Town.

This was our first time visiting Alexandria. We thought Georgetown was the place to go, but on our drive back to the hotel, we were amazed at how cool Alexandria appeared. We had to stop. We grabbed dinner and went for a stroll and came across Dolci Gelati. The place looked like it was hopping, but we got served quickly. The place had a historic, artsy vibe. We didn't get the gelato, but we both got the hot caramel latte, and it was delicious. We sat, relaxed, and enjoyed all the signage on the walls. If we knew about this place earlier, we would have added it to our extensive itinerary. All the customers were saying it was amazing gelato. I'm sure it was. If we're ever in the DC area again, we'll definitely stop back. For now, we'll just tell people to visit.

Self service was a little confusing and it was crowded but the gelato was amazing at least

5 star service. 5 star food. The server Adeline Lupo makes the best mocha i have ever had in my entire life. I highly recommend you stop by for a sweet treat (and an even sweeter server)

The only thing Italian about this place is the name. Coffee too hot, gelato is filled with air.

I used to really enjoy Dolci Gelato’s Sicilian pistachio. While it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, it was definitely one of the best in the area. Compared to places like Pitango, where the pistachio barely tastes like pistachio, the flavor here really came through.

Unfortunately, they recently replaced it with a new version that just doesn’t compare. It tastes like the artificial pistachio ice cream you’d find at the grocery store; unnaturally vibrant green, but without that distinct natural pistachio. When I asked why they made the change, they said the cost of pistachios was too high to continue making the Sicilian version.

Personally, I would’ve gladly paid a little more for the original. This new one feels like a poor substitute. Honestly, I’d rather they didn’t offer pistachio at all than replace a great flavor with something that doesn’t even taste like real gelato.

It is as good as it looks! The Tiramisu Affogato was SO DELICIOUS! The balance between the yummy warm espresso and creamy flavorful gelato was incredible! If you are in Alexandria don’t look anywhere else for a perfect sweet treat!

Cute spot for tasty gelato with a bunch of fun, unique flavors! I dropped by Dolci Gelati with a friend on a warm Saturday afternoon, and it was the perfect way to welcome the start of spring. The gelato shop is located in the heart of Old Town right next to the town center, so it's incredibly convenient and perfectly located for a post-dinner (or pre-dinner) snack or to grab a bite to walk along the waterfront with. They have a bunch of fun flavors, but I had to go with their award winning fig and mascarpone scoop -- so good, and with such a fun balance of sweet and tart flavors from both the mascarpone and the fruit. We hung out with our gelato cones on Dolci's cute little patio, and it was the perfect space -- not too quiet and not too loud, with plenty of shade.
