Emmy Squared Pizza: Old Town - Alexandria, Virginia

My boyfriend and I love Emmy Squared and we typically visit once every month or so. Last time were in (early December) we got the chicken crunchers with the pineapple chili glaze, which were incredible, but when we came in this time the menu had been changed a little, to include the chicken crunchers being replaced with boneless wings with a set sriracha sauce. My boyfriend and I were really disappointed by these, the breading was thick and doughy and the texture of the chicken was a little strange. Also, the pizza dough was much thinner this time around, which was also a bit disappointing. We'll be back, but I really hope they bring back the chicken crunchers in their previous form and the crust is as fluffy and thick as it has been during previous visits.

Not our best experience but we will go back. They have gluten free pizza that tastes most like regular pizza crust. Unfortunately this time here was not the greatest. We arrived and were seated promptly however after ordering our food we were told there was no gluten free pizza available for the evening. That was the reason we drove 30 min to eat dinner there. After we mentioned this to our server she returned to our table saying they did have one more pizza crust available. Kind of strange but at least we could order one gluten free pizza. We ordered 5 pizzas one gluten free pizza which was fine though a bit over cooked. The restaurant was pretty empty for a dinner service so I didn't expect our table to be cleared and cleaned when we were still seated and enjoying our meal. It seemed like they wanted us to leave even though it wasn't even close to their closing time and no one was waiting for our table. It just seemed like they wanted to close up early. I'm glad we've been there before or we might not return.

Unbelievably good gluten free pizza and incredible service. Servers are very knowledgeable about food allergies, celiac, dietary sensitivities, etc. They take real pride in their gluten free pizza crust and you can taste the difference. This is the only place I'd order gluten free pizza in Alexandria and not leave disappointed!

The food and service were great! The high tops near the bar were tight for our party of six. It seems like they chose to add another table vs care for the comfort of the guests - no one could get out unless others moved. That said, we would go back because the pizza was delicious!!! It was kid friendly as well and both the kids and adults were happy, that's a win for sure!

Excellent food and service. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. I look forward to eating there again.

The pizza is okay. Nothing special. Reminds me of Pizza Hut. The cheesy bread sticks were really yummy with the sauce.

Amazing food and great service! My group truly enjoyed our time here. Will definitely visit again in the future.

The pizza was amazing. Had the vodka and ezzo pizza. Crispy edges. And the sauces hit the spot. Manager, Austin, was attentive and extremely kind. Service was fast!

Stopped in on Thursday, not crowded at all. Cute and comfy inside. Waitress was super nice. We had the special which was a truffle and pesto pizza. Came out fast and was delicious! Would definitely recommend for a good pizza.

I went the other weekend with my wife to finally try this Detroit pizza and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was delicious and the burger was the best one I have had in old town hands down. We also got amazing service and recommendations from Michelle and it's rare nowadays to get a visit from the manager when there's nothing wrong .. I think his name was Stephen but he was the cherry on top to an already amazing experience. It's nice to get true hospitality for a change

There have been 3 occasions where the food has either been late or just missing. I ordered delivery once, and only one of my two pizzas were delivered. I went to the restaurant and had to wait 30 min for them to bring it to me. The most recent failure occurred this weekend. I placed my order at Noon for 7 PM pickup -- timed conveniently for when I leave work. I didn't get my food until 7:40 PM. What really upset me is they knew I was waiting, but didn't tell me what was causing the delay until 7:30. They then proceeded to give me some BS excuse about how the pizza had a bubble it in, which is why they couldn't serve it to me like that. A bubble, really? This is clearly a reflection of management, and I believe her name is Miranda. 3 times is a pattern, so she either cannot handle running a restaurant, or she doesn't care. Our time and the consideration to her customers is not a concern of hers, which is why the service is terrible. Maybe the service would be better if they replaced her. I mean, I can't see how it could get worse.
