We were really impressed with the food! I had Yebeg Tibs (lamb) and my son had Chekkina Tibs (tenderloin). We had sambussa as the appetizer - all delicious. The dinner ambiance is loud Ethopian music videos & soccer on the tv. The food came out fast! I dont come to the D.C. area often, but when I do, I will come back to Enat!

Classic local authentic Ethiopian. Outside looks sketchy. Inside is homey. Great local vibes.

Enat was a bit out of the way but I wanted to give them a try since they had what looked like my favorite dish that I normally get from a place closer to me. I ordered the spicy lentils, cabbage, tomato and jalapeno salad, schennt tibs and chiktina tibs. I got two meat dishes, unsure which would be close to the one I was looking for since they sounded similar but both sounded delicious. I picked up the order and drove home, excited to try out a new place. Now, I genuinely go to one place close to where I live because they are truly the best Ethiopian food I have ever had. But I want to have other options in other areas. So I was really careful reading the menu and ordered the two items that sounded the most similar to what I wanted. Unfortunately, when I got home, there was only ONE meat dish. Which one, I am not sure, but I was very disappointed. The food I did get was good, and I tried to enjoy it, but I was charged more than what I received. No worries, let me dispute the order and get my money back for the missing item. I called the restaurant several times but no one answered. I doubled checked my online order which had 2 meat dishes and charged me for the such, but there was no way to dispute the order or ask for help. Overall, a disappointing dining experience and I won't be returning.

This place is SO delicious. Some observations: - You have the option of having 100% teff flour based injera flown in from Ethiopia (a bit more expensive but totally gluten free), or an American-style injera which includes a bit of wheat flour. Both are soft, supple and flavorful. - Their vegetarian sampler goes way above and beyond comparable places. It includes ten items. That includes all of the traditional favorites (cabbage and carrots, collard greens, lentils with berbere, shiro) but also some dishes I've not had at other places (a horseradish-reminiscent lentil salad, a dish that looks like egg salad but seems to be yellow split pea based, beets). They are all really good and offer a lot of flavor, texture, and color variety. - Their takeout is all packaged in recyclable and/or compostable packaging which is a really nice touch.

I was at Enat Restaurant with my friend it was a Super Bowl night. We got there early to get a parking spot, as we were anxiously waiting for the game, we tried to order food, but we were told no food order was accepted at that moment because the owner of the restaurant has announced that every one is invited for free food. We enjoyed the delicious Ethiopian tradishnal dishes as well as some beer. Like the restaurant name implies, they fed us as a mother. The football was exceptionally great, the best Super Bowl ever. I have to mention that the restaurant services were excellent.

Amazing Ethopian cuisine in a sports bar atmosphere. Always plenty of tables with good service as well. The Combination will give you a great sampling of their menu as well as vegetarian options.

Unfortunately at least two of the dishes in our vegetarian combo were obviously going bad. Very disappointing as we used to regularly attend this restaurant. Kitfo was good but the vegetarian dishes that were going bad should have never been part of the order.

Horrible service!! Drinks were served 1+hour after drink order is taken and after multiple requests and literally pleading with the waitresses. Icing on the cake was that the manager/owner says we can leave if we're not happy instead of apologizing for the extremely poor service. Got to the restaurant at 1:45pm and food didn't get served until 4:05pm not to mention that the food was bad and didn't have any taste either. Don't waste your time or money. Don't try it especially if you're taking guests. You'll be embarrassed to say the least. AND the flies hovering over the food...and bathroom??!
