It's fine. I haven't had issues at the pharmacy like others have mentioned. The only problem I have with this Giant is that the self check out is too strict with where you place your scanned items. If you don't immediately place the item on the small square where the plastic bags are located, it'll interrupt the system and you'll have to wait for a staff member to unlock the system so you can resume. But I've just gotten into the habit of stacking my groceries on that square and then bagging them after I've paid.

I am an African American woman in my thirties and have been disabled for several years and walk with a cane. Whenever I come into the store on multiple occasions, the security guard does not acknowledge me or say hello. It's as if I'm invisible.The female staff along with one or two Asian male staff members in the pharmacy at least are professional and courteous. Yet the black male pharmacy staff are unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Today a woman cut line and literally stood less than a foot in front of my face while I was presently trying to be served by the pharmacist, and he just let her do it while she complained about her needs without saying a word about the fact that I was there first. There also was no "hello" or "How can I help you," or even a "thanks, have a nice day" after my order was completed by the pharmacist. The prescriptions were basically shoved in to my hand and I was sent on my way again without a word, as if it was just too taxing for the black pharmacist to be polite and acknowledge me as a customer/fellow human being. At the same time, he was smiling and chuckling with a non-minority female customer who came directly before me, so it was not as if he was incapable of opening his mouth and saying, "Hello and how can I help you?"Overall I don't know what the issue is with the black male pharmacy staff to where they regularly disrespect black female customers, but I can assure you that I won't be going back there. It's never ok for people in customer service to greet and smile at customers who aren't racial minorities while openly offering horrendous customer service and disrespect to the women who are, even if the individuals providing that service are minorities themselves....Apparently internalized self-hatred really is a thing....So sad and pathetic.

I only give it one star because that's needed to comment! I have been shopping at Giant stores for 50 years! But the one at 6800 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA is the most racist and poorly run stores in the metro area! The deli and back areas are bad but the pharmacy is the worst! I have had the same prescription for over ten years, been going to this pharmacy for over four years, every month, same prescription! All of a sudden some Asian comes in there and all of a sudden I am getting harassed on my visits, but I do not see him harassing other minorities! His name is Tae Um, which I have no idea of his ethnicity, and it does not matter, but today he refused to fill my prescription as written! I explained these were pain medications, I was out and trying to leave town! I go to Leesburg every week-end to stay with my grandson! But this guy says "his rule" was to wait until tomorrow!!!! Are you kidding!!! My insurance provider called him and told him to fill the prescription, my doctor called him and he said ok, but then he sent me a message saying I would have to wait for tomorrow! I had to go get an emergency shot just so I could walk and they agreed to document I was there because Tae Um refused a legally, professionally prescribed medication I have been picking up there for over four years!!!! He's a racist and an idiot, avoid like COVID! I will be filing mt complaint with Giant, AMA, Office of Professional Conduct and Monday I will seek counsel!!

My mother and I came here to get pumpkins to carve.m last fall. The pumpkins were easily accessible and the staff were helpful at checkout. I also was able to find the kind of wine we were looking for. The ambiance is fine - it's what you'd expect from a grocery store. I don't normally shop at Giant, but if you're in the area this one is a good choice.

Ordered on line, select items missing .... Okay. But was charged for things they forgot to include when I picked up... so had a choice to drive back or omit. They forgot a bag of my groceries ... again. This is the third time this has happened.

Pharmacy is disorganized and rude. Made appointment for booster shot for my elderly father. Arrived 15 minutes early, people with appointments had been waiting almost 2 hours for the shot. My dad who can barely get around Sat down and they told me he would need to stand or go up front because the empty seat he sat in was out of rotation for his time slot. There was no order for waiting some were shopping, standing, sitting whatever. We never did get the shot because too long of a wait. Why have appointments? The pharmacist was busy filling prescriptions and doing vaccinations in between and it wasn't working.

I can't believe Giant Foods is willing to sell rotten produce without a second thought! I had to have my groceries delivered due to my disability. 90% of the time they don't have a majority of items I've ordered, but I still have to pay for the delivery for my non-groceries. When groceries are delivered, my produce is ROTTEN! The last time I ordered apples, one had been methodically cut all the way around in strips and replaced with other pieces of a different apple. I called the store, and they just blew me off. I tried to warn them that other apples may have been tampered with, but they didn't care, and made no note of my concerns. This store needs to be inspected by the HEALTH DEPARTMENT! What I'm posting pix of the produce I received today. The food NEVER should have been left out for consumers to buy.

Love the staff and they know me and my situation with my health problems. So they always know what goes on and they are so understanding of everything. I never have to keep explaining myself or my issue when I see them. Which is nice. In other places, it was always a hassle and such a headache. I don't have that problem with this staff. They are so good.
