Good but not great. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic. So was the honey mustard and sweet potato fries. The service was fast and friendly. Emphasis on fast. The chicken was just good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the breading and it was a touch dry. Not anything terrible, but I’ve had better. It was good enough where I would give it another chance. Overall, positive experience and I would recommend it to a friend!

Found a website with all the Old Town restaurants and literally used DnD dice to fill a d100 and ended up at Hen Quarter. I'd have never come in here otherwise as I thought it was a quick service chicken place. What a wonderful surprise this turned out to be. The upstairs is beautiful and the staff is really invested. The cornbread, Caesar, 1/2 bird, and Chilean Sea Bass we got were absolutely awesome. I'd recommended checking this place out. We did spend close to $175 with tip included in that so treat this like a potential alternative to Mia's, Wharf, or Virtue closer to the water if you want to wear casual clothes and avoid the more congested area further down King.

You can tell the place is a more popular but since last coming here they have changed the menu much of the options you had for brunch is no longer available. Server was great food is still good but just doesn't feel the same.

My husband and I went in and the hostess mentioned we were early for our reservation. We arrived at 4:52 pm and our reservation was for 5:00pm. We went to the bar for drinks while waiting I notice three families get seated without a reservation. It's now 5:10pm, I asked the host when were we going to get seated. She preceded to tell me she blanked out and forgot about us. I told the manager, he seated us and offered more drinks. We waited for our waiter/ waitress and no came for 15 minutes. I notice the manager taking orders at other tables. Two of which were couples that were seated after us. At that point we figured that the evening couldn't get any better so we left. My drink was good but that's all I was able to experience.

Food and setting was good. Only negative part was the DJ they had blasting loud music to where you could not hear the person next to you speak. I felt like I was at a night club trying to have a nice peaceful Saturday brunch. They music is fine, you just don't need to have it blasting loud on your speakers.

What a great find on King St, we've walked past too many times, finally went in and were rewarded with great chicken, hot waffles, cold beer, and friendly service, the price, you ask? Incredibly reasonable, will definitely be back!

Food was decent and fairly priced. Our server was slow, I think the steps were too much for her. I ordered lobster mac, to my surprise, it was full of crawfish meat. Drinks came out slow and afterwards, we went to the bar and ordered the same drink we had at the table and were told that they were out of the tequila, when asked what our drinks were made with, the bartender showed us the bottle of rail alcohol but we paid regular price for our drinks that were supposed to have hornitos in them. Probably won't go back.

Here for Sunday brunch on special occasion. Had Reservations at 12 noon and a nice table. Brandon our server was great. Loved the ambience and the noise wasn't too loud. Ordered Chicken & Waffles and Berry French Toast. The Chicken was very good. 4 large pieces. Waffles were delicious but only 4 small triangles. For $30 you'd think an extra waffle (4 more triangles) would be included. French Toast (2 pieces for $17 was high) didn't have any Corn Flake crust to it and were very dry (see pic). Didn't appear to have been drenched/dipped long enough. They missed a chance for this to be excellent. Disappointed !!!

Had reservation for 615. Called to inform I was going to be late. When I arrived no host/hostess at stand. Bartender glanced over. There was one other party of 6 waiting to be seated. Bartender came over and seated the party of 6 then went back to the bar. Waited 11 minutes for bartender to acknowledge me and another 5 before she seated me. There were 4 patrons at the bar. Server Chris Angelo introduced himself as my temporary server and took my order. They were out of items on the menu u and it was only 630. I ordered the deviled eggs, the fried catfish and collard greens. Chris Angelo brought me my appetizer the deviled eggs. The eggs were tasty and I enjoyed them. The catfish and collards were brought out by my new server. The cat fish came with cheesy grits. The piece of catfish was very thin for catfish and the cornmeal breading was bland, had no seasoning or flavor. The blandness overwhelming the mild flavor of the catfish. The cheesy grits barely had any cheese flavor and looked like they had been sitting for a while. They had a skin over them that forms from sitting and were pasty not creamy. Over cooked or just sat too long either way not very appealing. The collards were very flavor and so tender. The only complaint for the collard is they tasted like they had a mound of salt dumped in them. They were way, way too salty. Fried catfish, grits and collards are some of my favorite foods. I've eaten them in many places across the country. The reviews were so good is to e reason I chose to dine at Hen Quarter. The food was mediocre at best and the service from the time I walked in was poor.

Great Food! There were five of us and we all enjoyed our meal. We all agreed, some of the best collards we ever had and one friend was from Georgia! The gluten-free catfish and grits, cajun lobster ravioli, and the deviled eggs were fabulous. Great service, they checked back numerous times. We can't wait to try Brunch and return for dinner. Casual ambience and beautiful view added to a fun, wonderful night.

I've had quite a few meals at Hen Quarter (upstairs, downstairs at the Rub and bar) and I love the food. The food is absolutely delicious. However, during all of my visits I would venture to say I've had the absolute slowest waiter/waitress of any restaurant in the area. Typically it's a 20-30 min wait before someone comes to your table after being seated. Once the food arrives, good luck if you see your server during the meal. Honestly the place seems understaffed. On Valentines days I watched couples leave before their food arrived. On a normal day I've watched couples leave before their food arrived. I'm just not sure how to describe the slow service, but you'll have to visit to understand. If you're eating a need a re-fill or even want to pay your bill...again you'll have to physically flag someone down because no one will come back to your table to check on you.
