Hinata Sushi is my family’s go-to Japanese restaurant in Alexandria. The food is consistently really delicious, with good portions and fair prices. The lunch specials are a really great deal— highly recommend.

The menu has a broad range of Japanese appetizers and dinner options, and both the hot food and sushi are excellent. Sometimes at other restaurants, the hot food is better than the sushi or vice versa, and that is not the case at Hinata. The kitchen dishes and sushi are always delicious. I especially love how fresh the sushi dishes are.

The service is also gracious and attentive, and the restaurant environment is not loud and always clean.

Hinata is a neighborhood gem on every level!

No frills restaurant with delicious food, but service was very slow. Be prepped to ask for the check. Still wonderful food and worth the stop

This is our third time coming here and there’s a reason. This place SLAPS. Service is friendly, the food is delicious, and it’s a great place for a date night.

The Spicy Miso is my go to with the lemon beer and all the sushi.

Third time eating here and the tuna is consistently fishy, in rolls or by itself as sashimi. Everything else is excellent. The salmon sashimi is buttery and smooth. They have a great selection of specialty rolls and regular rolls. I would just avoid anything with tuna.

It was our first time visiting this place and was excited because of the good reviews from both Google and Yelp. Sadly, our expectations weren’t met. Their sushi (Chirashi bowl) and rolls were good, but the yakisoba was definitely a let down. Almost half of it was made of thinly sliced onions which overwhelmed the taste of the entire dish. I had to pick them out or else I wouldn't be able to eat from the plate at all. I hope they change their recipe to improve the dish. Service wasn't as good either as our server didn't check on us other than getting our orders (which took a while) and bringing us the check. That made it even disappointing.

This seems like a nice place and I hate to leave bad reviews. But I have to be honest. The sashimi did not seem to be very fresh. And my sushi roll also seemed a little stale. The Wasabi was gritty and had a strange flavor. These are all things that can be easily fixed, so maybe I was there on a bad day. Maybe the fresh fish is delivered tomorrow and we had week old fish. But basically, I was disappointed.

I had the most incredible experience at Hinata Sushi!

The sushi was absolutely outstanding! fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight, and you could tell the ingredients were top-notch. We tried a variety of rolls, each one unique and delicious in its own way. The chef’s creativity and attention to detail really stood out.

We also appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the meal, like the perfect pairing suggestions and the attention to dietary preferences. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines such high quality in both food and service.

Overall, Hinata Sushi exceeded all our expectations. I can’t wait to come back for another unforgettable meal. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for the best sushi in town!

I can't really review the atmosphere or service because I ordered out. However, I was very pleased with my chicken teriyaki dinner entree. It was superb! I was a little reluctant at first because it looked like something I had never had from a japanese spot, but it was a very fresh and inviting dish.

I usually don't love miso soup but their soup was incredible! I wish I would have snapped a picture.
