Hypergoat is always the best vibe. Baristas are always incredibly sweet and so much fun! They are always playing the best music and you can tell they all love being there. COFFEE…10/10! They roast all their coffee locally, and the team is very knowledgeable about every coffee they offer and make excellent recommendations. If you’re looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a delicious coffee, matcha, or tea and WFH, study, or just hangout with friends, Hypergoat is the place to be 100%. My favorite spot in Old Town!

The staff is really kind, friendly and fun!! I tried their matcha and overall I really liked it, it was delicious. It was just a bit too much milk for my taste, but the milk and the matcha itself were foamy and very tasty.

I’ve been going to Hypergoat regularly for a few weeks now! All of the baristas there are super friendly and really helpful. They’re also very conversational in a none pushy way.

They have a wonderful selection of roasts and I’ve taken a few bags home and enjoyed everything just as much as I do in their shop. Check ‘em out!

Hip coffee shop adjacent to a shared work space on the edge of old town Alexandria. I was there meeting a business colleague. Simple surroundings and fairly low levels of noise made this a good place to meet. Many independant shops now serve good quality coffee with reasonable add-ons, unlike large chains offering ever crazier concoctions with never-ending names... I enjoyed a well-made latte on a brisk morning ready to start my day...

I got their pumpkin hyperghost latte and my sister got an iced chai latte. so good!

There was about~ 30 min waiting time on Sat (they work slow even though there are five of them it still takes forever);~$ 22 for two lattes and a croissant plus of course an indispensable tip; it is hard to find a place to seat. Our lattes were not good either: lukewarm and mostly milk., if there was any coffee in them at all, it was very little. Can’t recommend this place to anybody. It was crowded though when we were there, likely with first-time visitors like us. Zero stars.

Came in not knowing what to order. Baristas were knowledgeable and opinionated. I got a latte with the guatemalan single-origin beans.

I've never had a latte quite like it. It had fruitlike notes I can only really get from a pour-over. It was the perfect strength. The milk was expertly foamed. Perhaps one of my favorite coffees of all time.

Unfortunately, it was too crowded, not enough room to comfortably stand and wait without being in someone's way or having my butt to someone's table. Lots of awkward shuffling around. Decor was nice though. There's a separate co-working space behind a wall but it was not clear if you're allowed to hang out there.

Update: I revisited the cafe in October 2025 and there was more space to wait! I think there might have been 3-4 more tables. They were all taken, but what can you do? The coffee's good!

I love hypergoat! It is my go-to coffee shop near my office. They have consistently delicious coffee, good pastries and I honestly often go there because I crave the warm pao de queso. Friendly staff and relatively quick service. They recently expanded the seating area so it is more spacious and you aren't inconveniencing seated customers while waiting for your order.

Amazing! Perfection! Great atmosphere. Service = top notch! The baristas are so so so sweet and kind. The Pao-de-queijo (cheese bread) IS JUST OUT OF THIS WORLD. I want to come here every day. This is the best coffee place in Old Town for during the week meetings, post-daycare drop off, catching up, or simply to just relax. I live on the street and I am obsessed (and perhaps biased at the same time because I am from Brazil and I cant believe I am having PDQ every week!). Thank you for existing!

Awesome coffee shop

We have gotten a lot of delicious coffee and pastries here, including their seasonal drinks and pastries. They're one of the best coffee spots in NoVA!

My current favorite is the campfire maple cappuccino. ❤️
