Even though I have lived in Alexandria for decades, this is my first trip to Il Porto and I'm not sure why! It's cozy and the mayhem of diners attending the Christmas tree lighting was handled with absolute professionalism by the gentleman at the front. Our waiter, Raef, was funny and attentive and took the best care of us without being invasive and without rushing us on a busy night. The vibe is lively, happy groups and a few couples and friends in pairs. Although I waited way too long to come here, I will be back soon to try other traditional Italian dishes. (Oh and the drinks were good too!)

The restaurant had no elevator and restrooms were two levels up with stairs. We had someone in our party who could not climb stairs and I even mentioned this when I made reservation requesting first floor for dining and never mentioned this. Will not be going back as they have no handicap accommodations.

We had an amazing experience here. We were seated straight away on the upper level on a raised area. Our waitress greeted us promptly and we had our bottle of wine within a minute ordering. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and prompt but left time for privacy and conversation. All around a great experience.

Went early on a Sunday so no problems getting a table. It got really busy around 5:30pm. Staff was great. Food was great (though needed a doggy bag - couldn't finish it all). Definitely on the list for a future visit.

Do not go here. We had reservations. We were told we didn't. The host was rude. I'm a meeting planner and I work in Old Town. I would never take a group here. Save some hassle and go to Landini Brothers. Thank me later. We had a wonderful meal with great service.

One of us had the Tortellini Pesto, and thecother had Veal Saltimbucca. Both were very good. The veal came with spaghetti. We requested it on the side, and we asked for marinara sauce on the spaghetti. The sauce was very good. Our thought as to pricing was that the glass of wine was a bit overpriced at $18. The Peroni beer was $10, also a bit overpriced in our opinion.

I celebrated my birthday with friends from out of town and I'm so happy with dining here. From the service to the food, everything was amazing! The staff were very attentive and providing a great customer service. I will definitely be back and recommend to all!

Service was impeccable. We were not overly serviced and he just seemed to know when to check on us. Don't know his name but he had some cool funky glasses (and see the fun picture he took). Now onto the food— manicotti, chicken Marsala, and a seafood gnocchi special. All excellent. My dish had tons of seafood. Try the lemon dessert - just light enough after an amazing meal and worth having to unbutton your pants. Excellent wine selection.

The chairs and tables are very wobbly and they weren't able to fix it. They are wobbly to the point of spilling drinks for reference. The waiters didnt listen to us and we had to wait about 15min before our order. They ignored us and moved us around from person to person. This was for a birthday celebration too so that sucked

My wife and I dined here last night to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. Granted we had a late reservation 8:45 PM. The ambience was perfect for a romantic dinner. Our server was prompt and attentive. The food was flavorful and well portioned. We had a wonderful evening!

Food was great! Although the meals weren't too hot (temperature wise) they were warm they were very tasty and everyone loved their meals. We had the lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, and Chicken Marsala. All were great. It was my mother's birthday and they even brought her a free chocolate cake. Service was good.
