Even though I have lived in Alexandria for decades, this is my first trip to Il Porto and I'm not sure why! It's cozy and the mayhem of diners attending the Christmas tree lighting was handled with absolute professionalism by the gentleman at the front. Our waiter, Raef, was funny and attentive and took the best care of us without being invasive and without rushing us on a busy night. We had an amazing experience here. We were seated straight away on the upper level on a raised area. Our waitress greeted us promptly and we had our bottle of wine within a minute ordering. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and prompt but left time for privacy and conversation. All around a great experience.
Went early on a Sunday so no problems getting a table. It got really busy around 5:30pm. Staff was great. Food was great (though needed a doggy bag - couldn't finish it all). Definitely on the list for a future visit.
