This is an amazing restaurant, the food is spectacular , and the atmosphere is very romantic...

The only downside if there were one (and it's a very tiny downside.) You may have to use the stairs if there is no available downstairs seating

I want to start by acknowledging that they accommodated us with a table that we did not reserve very close to their closing time. We really appreciated that secondly we were served by Michael who was the epitome of perfection. It was my birthday and he accommodated us with Champagne as well as birthday desserts. His service was immaculate and his comedic timing was perfect. Thank you Michael for making my birthday even more special. This place is about three minutes from my house and I have recommended it to everyone that I know and I will be coming back frequently thanks to Michael who even let my friend in to get my charger after we left lol. Oh and the bill was Very affordable 10/10

Anytime I have a friend in town or anytime I’m
In Alexandria I make a point to stop in here for a bite and the martini service. I learned how to make my first Martini at 9 (long story) and have since gone around trying martinis everywhere. Hands down Josephine does it best!! The food is also always amazing even down to the burger. Just spectacular!!!

What a great place for happy hour and dinner! Actually it’s quite a large restaurant but the sections are all small enough to make it feel cozy and quaint. Our server was super attentive, respectful and perceptive. Happy hour drinks were yum and strong - prices reasonable for happy hour but the food prices never change even if it’s happy hour timing. We celebrated our anniversary here and were impressed by the macaroni appetizer, steak frites and beef bourgnion. We will definitely be back and will make sure to bring our family and friends too!

All the food was delicious and very authentic. Our favorite was the lox appetizer and the 3 cheese platter.

The food was good. However, the service is poor . We sat and waited for a server to attend to us for about 30 minutes . When the server eventually assisted us, he took our order and left , it took them about 45mins to bring out the food. Then we ordered Desert, and I'm still waiting and this is 4 days later .

We had dinner there last week. What a lovely restaurant, great service, and we got to eat on the patio.
We both had beef bourguignon and it was amazing.
I'm so glad we tried it, and we will be back on the next Alexandria trip.

Great food, great service and wonderful venue. We especially love their daily soup, the Lyonnaise salad, the Pappardelle Parisienne (pasta), and the Burger Josephine. Actually, everything we have ordered has been delicious. The waitstaff are always paying attention and there to help in any way. Josephine is our go-to restaurant.

I love this restaurant! Full disclosure, I was invited to photograph the woodwork for a project, so we had lunch and got to work. The food was great, the people are friendly, fun and hard working, the space made lovely photos and everyone left happy!

High end restaurant. Service so so. Food ok. I had mussels that were very small. Mussel bouillion was salty and not that great.

Went for brunch and it was a lovely experience. The indoor and outdoor dining spaces were beautiful. The waitress was great, and the food delicious. The eggs benedict and the pouding chômeur were so yummy! Great spot for brunch in Old Town.

It was the Best Quiche ever—scrumptious. I loved the outdoor seating; it was very cute.

Had dinner here today. Beautiful restaurant, lovely atmosphere - dim and oaky.

Oeufs Mayonnaise (deviled eggs, essentially) - not bad. I probably wouldn't order again, nothing special.

Steak tartar - absolutely delicious. An extremely flavorful dish- moiist and tender.

Josephine Old Fashioned - pretty much a standard Old Fashioned.

Herb Mezcal drink (forgot the name) - tastes like a mezcal Old Fashioned. Tasty drink.

Gregourre (cheese bread) - these are little balls of cheese bread. Tasty.

Comfy and classic inside, with good service. I recommend a visit!
