Unless you love the taste of vanilla extract do not get the vanilla milkshake.

Great tasting ice creams with lots of flavors! Was glad to find another location outside of Michigan.

I'm a huge fan of Kilwins — their ice cream is usually top-notch, and I always make a point to stop by when I'm near one. That said, my recent visit to the Old Town Alexandria location was a letdown.

I ordered a single scoop in a waffle cone, and the total came to $12.78. That price is steep, even for Kilwins, so I was expecting their usual high quality. Unfortunately, the waffle cone tasted stale, like it had been sitting out for a day or more, and the scoop itself felt smaller and less satisfying than what I’m used to from other Kilwins locations.

I really want to chalk this up as an off day — and I’ll definitely give them another shot — but at that price point, every detail matters. Hoping for better next time!

Vanilla was not bad, mint chocolate chip tastes like toothpaste, not minty enough. Pricey $$

Delicious assortment of desserts and ice creams. Portions size is huge and took me a good while to finish my chocolate cone. But well worth it. Will try out the other items next time!

I’ve passed this shop several times walking around and never noticed it. Went in for ice cream after dinner and was pleasantly surprised! The service was attentive and very friendly. All the chocolates looked so good. We got the coffee ice cream and the toasted chocolate ice cream and both were so delicious and creamy. They had lots of good flavors so I’ll come back to try them all.

This place is amazing everything is good and the service is excellent, you don't feel the difference between this location in Old Town and Virginia Beach they always make you feel welcome.
No matter what you ordered don't forget to get something with chocolate. Is worth it.

The Apple Pie Ice Cream - limited edition. I was here visiting family a few blocks away and brought the kids down here for ice cream. After 54 years, I've had my share of ice cream all over the world. I love apple pie. I tried an apple pie ice cream in another southern state a month ago but it was pretty lame and just tasted like they mixed apple sauce with vanilla ice cream. Not this place. This is the real deal and I place it in the top 5 ice creams I have ever had in my life. Perfect match and blend. There are pieces of pie crust in there, but just the right amount. Real apple pieces with the cinnamon, etc... It's absolutely perfect. I did try the free sample earlier and I had to come back after dinner. But even the free sample didn't do the full product justice. It's a culinary experience and I highly recommend it.
