I’ve been a most highly satisfied customer of Kiwi Kuisine for years. I generally have them deliver a dozen meat pies of varying selections every month, for six months at a time, then I renew. I’m hooked on steak & cheese, steak & stout and the steak garlic mushroom pies but I don’t believe you can go wrong with any of their gorgeous little pastry with lucious meat fillings, yummee, and this is from an Aussie expat who’s lived in DC for years. Kiwis & Aussies grow up eating meat pies from when we were kids and we know good pies! These are the best, tuck in mate!
In gives me no pleasure to report that these are terrible pies. They are significantly worse than a petrol station pie you would get in New Zealand and five-times as expensive. My search for an actual Kiwi pie in the States continues.

I got pies at the Old Town Farmers market. The bacon egg and sausage pie is awesome! The steak pie if good too. But the chicken curry pie had the taste of old chicken. Maybe it’s just me but I couldn’t hack it. But, I love a local business. They are also for sale in Whole Foods. Pie is a big thing down under and it is fun to have the option up here.

Tried their lamb and curry pies at Trade Roots on a trip through DC. Very savory, authentic Kiwi flavor.If NZ is too expensive or far away, these will definitely do.

Tried for the first time today and it was a pleasant experience. Did carry-out and the instructions were easy enough to bake nicely at home. Got the spicy veg, chicken curry, and pork green chili. Pork green chili was the favorite! One pie was enough without being too much. The small savory pies are ~$8/ pie, sweet pies are only available in large and vary per, mostly around $26/ pie. Savory ones are available in larger sizes as well.
