I absolutely loved this place! The portion sizes were generous, and the food was incredibly flavorful. It’s definitely a great spot to try. Plus, their late hours are a huge bonus.
KungFu Kitchen is a hidden gem in Alexandria, Virginia, offering a wide variety of dishes, though our go-to favorites are the House Special Fried Noodles and the House Special Noodle Soup.
We’ve never experienced a wait when dining in, and the atmosphere is always quiet and calming, with relaxing music playing in the background. Every visit, the food arrives quickly, piping hot, and full of flavor — we’ve truly never had a bad experience here.
The vibe is laid-back; the staff won’t interrupt you during your meal, so if you need something, you’ll probably need to flag someone down. Personally, we appreciate that level of privacy while dining.
For the area, the prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. Overall, KungFu Kitchen is a fantastic spot that deserves much more recognition for the consistently excellent experience it provides.
We ordered several dishes for carry-out and picked them up at the at the suggested time. At home we opened them immediately and prepared to dine. One dish, the pork dumplings in a sweet sauce was a problem. The sweet sauce had hardened to a rock candy consistency in the bottom of the dish and we couldn.t get the pork dumplings out.
I took the dish back the next day and talked to the proprietor who kept insisting that that's the way it was supposed to be. After some back-and-forth
I set the dish on the table and expressed my displeasure as I walked out. He followed me out and slammed the dish into a trash can on. the sidewalk in front of the store.
The other dishes were good enough. But we will not be going back.
Warning ⚠️ Restaurant charges whatever they want and make it up! The man who represented to manage the place was extremely rude. Rude all the way around. In the national capital no place for a restaurant like this. Rude service bad taste in my mouth. Lets shut this down! No way to speak to customers like this period! See upcoming article in Washington Post!
Excellent food. Saw how the dough was made.
Definitely one of the most authentic Chinese options in the area. Their crab and pork soup dumplings are excellent! We also really enjoyed their shredded potatoes.
Hidden gem! We will definitely come back!!!! Good shredded potato and good soup dumplings!!!!!!

Disappointed. Excited to try a new place for Chinese food but over all the food was bland, specifically the spring rolls and chicken lo mein. Scallion pancakes were okay. Not planning to eat here again.
Delicate, fresh pork soup dumplings, rich Peking duck buns, tangy pork belly, fresh and snappy stir fried green beans with chili - delighted to learn there is someone with a deft hand for Chinese food nearby. Delicious.

The attitude is terrible, the food is not fresh, the meat is old and poor, and the vegetables are not washed

Can’t get enough of their steamed chicken dumplings! Look at the consistency! These were taking on different days and times over the last couple of months. The cucumber salad is great too! Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for a more laid back environment

Highly recommend! We were in the area and we were craving soup dumplings. The server was very helpful and suggested a few other options to try with our dumplings. We had the shanghai pork buns and a spicy rice noodle soup that ended up being our favorite!

Come here if you are looking for Chinese food outside of the "popular stuff." Really, really delicious, unique (to me!) dishes, and haven't had a bad one in 5 visits.

Despite only having a single server, the gentleman waiting the tables did a fantastic job keeping up.
The soup dumplings had a nice thin wrapper and there was lots of broth, but the filling could have been a little more flavorful.
The Guo Bao Rou was the real reason we were there and it didn't disappoint. Just enough tartness and a nice, sticky glaze, the coating was chewy and crunchy.
Finally, we ordered the braised pork belly based on pictures and that ended up being our favorite entree in the entire meal. It was just super flavorful and tender.
Overall, the food is fantastic and we will definitely be back.
Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs available, but no diaper changing stations in the bathroom. Overall, they did a fantastic job serving and accommodating our toddler.
