Good food for what it is. I only had an appetizer so I can't really judge the place. Seems like it has some really good options on the menu if you know what you're ordering 🎉

There are dozens of excellent Mexican restaurants in Northern Virginia. This is not one of them.
Our food took over an hour to come out, and usually everything tastes good when you're hungry, but I guess I wasn't hungry enough. This was Taco Bell quality food served cold at Old Town prices.
If you're craving Mexican, I strongly recommend Helena's or El Paso.

Tacos were good. I wasn't a fan of the creamy salsa or chips but the tacos were good as were the rice and beans. My wife, vegan, ordered just beans and rice for lack of options and the portions were very nice for her. Inside is very dated and service was slow but it was a decent little stop. Outside seating available and a small bar inside.

Love this place! If you have never had Arrecheras Molcajete, THIS is the place to try one. BEST thing in the world, and only 25 bucks for a steak one. Urbano down the street charges like 60-70 bucks for one. Also, DOPE margaritas, so tasty! The Mangorita is bomb! And Luis was the man!!! always making sure I was good to go and great convo <3 will be back again and again!

Great location, terrible everything else. Margaritas taste like luke warm, sugary, bath tub tequila sludge. Chips are stale, portions are small, prices are really high, slow service. Just bad. Always dead despite good location so I don’t know why I’m surprised.

Very disappointing delivery experience. App originally said 45 minutes when I ordered but tracking showed no one had picked up the order an hour later. I called the restaurant and they said another driver picked up my order by mistake and they were making a new order (meanwhile they never contacted me about this). The order eventually arrived and to be honest the food was good but the portion size of both the entrees and the sides were disappointing. If this occurred while dining in I would have sent it back. Not to be picky but you know those little compartments in the take out container were barely half filled. As a Google Guide I review many restaurants and am sorry to have to leave a review like this.

Service is mid, Don’t plan on coming unless you want to be disappointed the food here is claiming to be Mexican cuisine but in my opinion it’s far from it. We ordered nachos which we weren’t explained to by staff that it’s 8 chips with cheese and your choice of protein at your liking ($16)the portion is small; besides that the appetizer was good for entrees we got the 3 meat fajita (chicken, shrimp and beef) for ($26) I expected at least 5 pieces of shrimp and more chicken and steak my girlfriend ordered the al pastor tacos ($18)and she stated that the meat was bland like it’s unseasoned and cooked well done when tacos should be juicy and succulent. If you plan on coming here plan on having drinks here and going to eat next door; I am greatly disappointed in los cuates for claiming to be a good Mexican restaurant.
I Don’t blame the staff in the front of house but regarding service you need to introduce yourself to your table so they know who to call and treat everyone equal im Hispanic and feel like I was not taken serious in my dining experience. But for the white people in the restaurant they had a bottle of water on all of there table offered chips as I had to ask for everything.

Service was extremely slow. Food and drinks definitely not worth the wait. Margaritas were not good. Food was cold, small portions and had no flavor. We couldn't find anything positive to say about our dining experience. If you have a craving for Mexican food I would recommend finding another place to eat.

I had been here a few times years ago with friends and had a great experience. I went with my husband and son last night and was quite disappointed. They seemed short staffed. Only two other tables and many empty ones had yet to be bussed. The man who greeted us and took our orders was also working the bar. Drinks came out after the food. The food was ok, nothing special. Our bill seemed quite high for what we ordered and for the quality. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

We decided to try a new Mexican spot in Old Town. We found street parking easily nearby early Sunday afternoon.
Cute colorful restaurant! We were greeted and seated immediately when we arrived. There were maybe 3 or 4 tables total occupied during our visit so not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. There is outdoor seating as well.
Our server, who was very friendly, hyped the premium margarita so we gave in and said yes. We also tried the passionfruit margarita. The premium was strong but that's probably what you're going for anyway 😀 The passionfruit margarita was delicious but not strong at all.
We tried the chips and dip and the Platanos Fritos (plantains with sour cream) to start. Chips were fresh and hot. Salsa was a bit creamy. Never had it like this before but the taste was pretty good. Plantains were perfect!
While we didn't order the Guac ( Guacamole Molcajete) , it was brought to our table. We found it to be on the bland side with no hints of cilantro, onion, lime or salt. We saw a few bits of tomato but it tasted just like a plain smashed avocado. Not something we would order again.
We decided to try all the street tacos except the vegetarian so we could taste everything.
Steak, chicken, fish, shrimp, ground beef, pork (al pastor), carnitas.
We also got the 3 street taco platter that came with the Mexican rice and beans.
We found the shrimp and fish tacos to be lacking in the quantity of meat. But they were flavorful.
The chicken, while plentiful, was dry even with the sauce.
The steak, al pastor and carnitas were all packed with meat and delicious but both our Al Pastor tacos were missing the pineapple.
The ground beef was my personal favorite but was very greasy.
The Mexican rice and pinto beans....Both were just ok.
Overall, food was ok we were expecting a bit more flavor. Service was great. Pricing was a bit higher than what we usually pay for a similar order.
