I paid $12 Sopa de Mar and received what looks to be maybe about 4oz of soup. this has to be a joke. Has to be. It has two shrimp. No clams no scallops like advertised.

I placed an order on the Door Dash app on June 2, 2020 at approximately 12:20pm and received a text confirmation my food would be delivered by 1pm. But when the driver arrived at Los Cuates at 1116 King Street in Alexandria, VA, he said the restaurant appeared to be closed and no one answered the phone when he called. I also called but no one answered. Why would Los Cuates show themselves as open for business on Door Dash when they're not. I want an explanation.

We ordered delivery tonight and the food arrived cold and soggy. The rice and beans were also cold and bland. Interesting take on beans: cover in water, add three pieces of shredded cheese. It was like bean soup. The two picture show the complete lack of quality control. The pork had no flavor, it was like they didn't season anything.

I honestly have no clue why this place is only 3 stars on here, every time I've gone I've loved the food! My favorite is the chicken fajitas, which come with a hearty serving of vegetables. For a health-conscious girl like me, this place has never let me down. If you're in old town and looking for good service and good food, try this place out!

I'm sooooo confused by the bad reviews! We happened by tonight after working a busy day at our own restaurant catering to the carry crowd during the Covid-19 quarantine. The burrito, chimichanga. Queso blanco and the 32oz Margarita togo were beyond amazing. I rather liked the beans that so many have trashed and the rice..while I'm sure it was fine, after my burrito there was no room for it so I will have to save that for later! I will look forward to when I can dine in, for now, my margarita isn't going to drink itself.

This place is really authentic when it comes to Mexican and overall a really good place to eat with family, even with friends. The waiters are nice and attentive and will always check up to see how you're doing. The food is really where it's at, everything there is good and at good prices. If you're ever down by King St Old Town, be sure to drop by and give this place a try, you won't regret it.

This is the best Mexican food I have ever had! The service is phenomenal and the food is fantastic! My husband and I were very skeptical but couldn't have been more pleased. Fresh food and great service, a must visit location!

What a nice dinner and great staff- service for a casual Mexican restaurant was amazing- very friendly and lively- and the man loved the tequila! Thanks for a fun happy hour. -Gloria, Fabio and Tommy

We've been to Los Cuates on King Street in Alexandria, VA a few times, but tonight we had one of the best meals we've ever had at a Mexican themed restaurant. My wife had the fajitas with steak and shrimp, a perfected standard...and very well prepared. However, I decided to be adventurous and order the Mocalajete. This was the very best decision I have made in a while. I ordered the Mocalajete with BBQ ribs and it was honestly the best Mexican dish I've ever had. Sizzling cheese, jalapeño, nopales, avocado, spicy sauce, and BBQ ribs served with sides of beans, rice, avacado, sour cream, pico, and corn tortillas. This is a "must try" if you put Los Cuates on your visit list.

Walking past Los Cuates in Old Town & noticed Happy Hour until 7pm on a Friday. Great atmosphere with Mexican decor (gotta love year-round Christmas bulbs!). The guacamole was rich, flavorful, & a nice blend of creamy/chunky. I'm usually not a fan of chunky salsa, but Los Cuates adds plenty of onion, cilantro, and spice to make the light corn chips sing! Gotta try the beef Taquitos Monterrey: deep fried flour tortilla with tender, slow-cooked beef (imagine short-ribs-barbacoa)! Ceviche was fresh and melt-in-your mouth tender. Manuel (wait staff) & Luis (GM) we're friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back!

Eating at Los Cuates has been one of the best experiences I've. Good Ambience, as well as good music playing. Free chips and salsa... Delicious food!!! I ordered a Molcajete & it was very saucy and flavorful, best frozen Margaritas ever! The service was prompt and every staff I interacted with were friendly and pleasant.

I absolutely loved my dinner at Los Cuates in Alexandria, service was extraordinary, very attentive and patient with our questions. We got our drinks and chips right away then ordered a burrito and Beef enchiladas, once the order arrived the Manager and made sure we were happy with our meals. Both were delicious. We had a good time over all, and I'll definitely comeback to keep trying their menu

This place was absolutely delicious. Awesome authentic Mexican food as my husband put it. We came in from a late flight as they were closing and staff was hospitable and over accommodating, best service we have had in a long time! Will be frequenting Los Cuates and bringing our family here!!!

Was very hungry after work. Walked down king street and came upon Los Cuates Alexandria in old town. They have great food, great drinks and wonderful host and hostesses. Topped it off with music from Mexico. I felt like I was on vacation. Wonderful little spot to visit with reasonable prices.
