Feels like a neighborhood restaurant. Probably a ton of repeat business from the local folks. Ordered the carnitas, carne asada, birria quesadilla, and chicken quesadilla to go. The portions are huge and can easily be two meals. The only one we didn’t enjoy was the birria. Never had it that soggy. Expected a crunchy texture.
Started going to Los Toltecos ten years ago. We were stationed out-of-state for a few years and moved back to the area. Same great people, great food (cannot recommend the Flautas Mexicanas enough -- delicious!), great prices. It's in a very easy location to get to.
The food is above average! But the staffs attention is lacking. You'll have to ask for a refill, which is an indication of a poorly trained server and a restaurant that is struggling. Refills generally cost under $.15 per glass. What is the cost of losing a return customer?!?!
