Great place to visit. The tables and chairs are comfortable. I appreciate the open feeling with high ceilings and glass windows. The coffee is good. The service is wonderful. The tables and floors were not clean. They seemed short staffed. The employees are hard working and need a raise is needed.
Check out the cool gift like items to buy! Local businesses! Well done! This is easily the best coffee house in Old Town!

Walked down after a less fulfilling experience at another nearby coffee shop looking for replacement caffeine. Super pleasant staff, clean and colorful interior, and GREAT coffee. Hope we get to come back to try their food, too.

Mae’s is one of my go-to’s for coworking in Alexandria! The vibe is so chill, and I love the decor. It’s a Francophile, I also highly recommend - it’s got lots of great French-inspired food and items for sale.

Great place for brunch! We had Avocado toast and Bulgogi sandwiches. Yummmyyyyyyyy! Spacious and enough tables and seats! Personally I think this place is better than Tatte! Love this place!

Adorable place! I enjoyed their delicious coffee. The food is also great, from pastries, to curry chicken salad, to chicken enchiladas. Feels like I'm back in Europe. Love it!
Outdoor seating for the pups is a bonus.

The first thing which stood out to me at Mae’s Market & Cafe was their vibrant pink espresso machine. There is no way you can miss that beautiful magic making instrument. I am really hoping it has a nickname. 😁

The entire place is lovely with its high ceilings, organized brightly colored market area, classic cane back dining chairs, marble table tops, plants and flowers, and the expansive windows. After finishing my cortado I sat back, took a few deep breaths, enjoyed the comfortable serene space and thanked God for the moment.

Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

Cute coffee shop to drop in for a coffee. The food was so-so, I recommend skipping mains and just go for the pastries.

We really love Mae’s. Vegetarians: the burrito is listed on the menu with chorizo and has bacon that is not listed on the menu. I asked for my burrito with no chorizo and it came with bacon. It was kinda funny but my explanation for 1 star service: the food runner told me to be more clear when I order. @ Mae’s, please modify your menu to list all critical ingredients.

Funnier still, the second burrito that came out had no bacon, but had chorizo!

Vegetarian options: Mae’s needs to update their menu to reflect true contents of each dish

Best London Fog Lattes in Old Town! But if you’re also feeling peckish, look no further. They offer a short but sweet lunch menu and a lovely pastry case plus a well-stocked “grab and go” selection including berry-topped chia seed pudding and an adorable kid’s PB&J lunch box. (Tip: While you wait for your Green Goddess sandwich, browse the dry goods market for Old Town merch and fun food finds.)

But what makes Mae’s truly special is how it has become our community’s “third space.” A place to chat and chill and connect in real life with good people. I’ve hosted book clubs, garden meetings, and business brainstorms both in the cafe and the indoor atrium behind the store. The gratitude runs deep to owner Nicole for giving us all this gift of a gathering space.

And now for the cherry on top…Mae’s is a woman-owned business committed to paying a living wage while using the best ingredients (many organic) throughout their menu.

In a word, go! You’ll be happy you stopped by. Just be sure to bring a friend.

Great quiche and coffee! They use Ceremony Coffee Roasters beans. They use a lot of lemon juice in their guac and greens which seems intentional but is a bit overpowering
